  1. I would agree with walking, just make sure you have good shoes so you don't add pressure to your lower back.
  2. Ok thank you for replying. I saw someone say they had a supervised diet at a hospital and was worried I would have to literally stay in one Thanks
  3. Welcome to the site. I have my first consultation on Friday. I have found alot of good topics on this forum and it's helped me understand what to expect with the band. I am curious though on how the supervised weight loss before banding goes. There are alot of wonderful people on this site and are willing to answer any questions they can.
  4. I haven't told my mom I am finding info/going for a consultation. Once she said "I'm not letting you have any surgery crap." she is highly against surgery. If I get a band date I will tell her then.
  5. I would have to agree. My boyfriend is supportive and will continue to support anything I want to do if it makes me happy.
  6. I am just curious if I have to go somewhere for 16 weeks or can I go home? I have no idea what they do during this.
  7. You are lucky Leila lol
  8. I have the Kathy Smith Project You DVD. It has 20 mins Pilates, 30 mins Aerobics and 30 mins Low body workout. It was about 15.00 It comes with a calendar doing one workout each day and then a day off.
  9. Yay, I am happy for you :huggie: GL!
  10. I heard that just drinking lemon in your water/tea will help aid in weight loss. I have never heard of the syrup, I will have to check it out. :huggie:
  11. I like all of the different choices you can pick and can still eat out and be healthy.
  12. I have my first consultation on Friday. The lady I spoke to told me I should write down any questions I have and I mentioned I have been visiting a Lap Band support site. She mentioned something about 50 pounds and lap band but I didn't quite catch it. Maybe there is a certian weight requirement for getting the lap band and if I don't meet those they will recommend gastric bypass? Does anyone have any idea what she could have meant? I refuse to do the gastric, I want something reverseable and less risky. I need to lose 140 pounds.
  13. I'm sorry to hear you are going through this as if overweight people don't deal with enough problems from strangers but to deal with it from family is just something to add to the burden. My brother has called both my sister and I fat and we don't talk to him anymore due to his words and actions towards us. To him his current fling is more important then blood. Have you tried telling your brothers how you feel and that it hurts you? Do they know that their words will rub off on your children if they talk bad to you in front of them? Time for them to grow up and be good brothers. Just remember you have a loving and caring hubby at home and your two beautiful children who love you also. Goodluck on your surgery, you are on the right track :clap2:
  14. I love WW. Doing that alone didn't help me much so I can't wait to see how it does when/if I get the band.

I was on Cymbalta, I noticed I got headaches on it and it seemed to make my heart beat faster. Other then that it worked for me. Lexapro had a high chance of sexual side effects for me. I wanted nothing to do with it
  16. You can put WoW in window mode Don't even have to logoff to view the web but it does have that auto-logoff
  17. I know one thing, IF/When I get my surgery date I am going to ask them to make sure I am under.
  18. I think she meant in the discriminatory state. That is how I saw it at least. If it weren't for places like Lane Bryant clothing stores, I would have nothing to wear =/
  19. I guess big people are more of an open target since people can clearly see we have a problem. There is no way to "hide" from people. People can hide alcoholism and drug abuse and many other things, but we are just out there. It still doesn't make it right. I wish people knew what it felt like. Once I went to a party of people I didn't know and I wore a bathing suit. I had a cover up on but some guy walked past me and said "omg what is that?" and it didn't feel too good. Him and the rest of his groupie friends sat there making fun of me for about an hour until I asked my boyfriend for us to leave.
  20. Hi Hedwig, I have never had that happen before but I wanted to give you a reply. By law hospitals are supposed to treat you even if you don't have insurance. I would recommend going and getting checked to make sure something isn't seriously wrong.
  21. I have been getting migraines for years, my father gets them. If you go to Imitrex's website you can get a coupon for 9 free pills. They cost $6 each with my insurance. Your doctor has to prescribe it for you and then you can get the 9 free.
  22. I have had my tongue pierced for 7 years now and I haven't had any problems with it. My speech is fine, no lisp, nothing. However if it is pierced wrongly you could lose sense of taste and sensation permantly. It was swollen for about a week but I could eat small pieces of food and you have to be careful not to bite on it early on which is hard not to do. You can buy plastic balls for the ring. I used glyoxide which is a mouth cleaner you can buy at wal-mart or anywhere else and had no infection. I didn't get it for the oral sex reason that most people ask me about but I just liked the way it looked. I had no complaints from my boyfriend before I got it and no complaints now. I also have my ears pierced 4 times and 3 tattoos. I would like to get another tatt and my belly button pierced when I am smaller. I would never piecer my nose or eyebrow, and most places will make you take it out if you work there.
  23. Sad but at least I can add that to the list since the more the better lol. My mother, sister and aunt had them too and all are overweight.
  24. I am a Taurus/Gemini born on the cusp, May 21st.
