    Pregnant with my band

I gained about 28lbs and lost it all, breastfeeding will help you lose the weight faster And don't focus on your weight gain now, just as long as baby is growing healthy and you're doing well that's all that matters

    Pregnant with my band

Congrats!! And I see we are from the same hometown!! Dr Hamad did my lapband surgery in 2010 congrats on your pregnancy! I have had two beautiful band babies since my operation. One born in 2011 and one this past year From my personal experience I have eventually had to have all my Fluid taken out due to extreme morning sickness. My baby is now 6 months old and my band is still empty but I am currently breastfeeding. I lost all of my baby weight within 6 weeks Where in Pittsburgh do you hail??
  4. Coming up on 4 years since I've been banded. AMAZING how time flies and how many things change

    He's Here!

Hi ladies! Wow, I leave for a month and this whole website changes LOL. Hope you're all doing well! My little guy was born on October 21st. 9lbs 2oz 21 inches long! We had a few complications after delivery but we're both doing well now. He's 10lbs and 23 inches as of today. I'm exclusively breastfeeding and we're both doing well with it! I've lost all but 4lbs of my pregnancy weight and then I hope to really gear up and get those last 20lbs off I've been dragging around! Happy Thanksgiving ladies!!

    Ouch, baby!

Hiya ladies. I'm always commenting but I know I never post quite as much in here. I am now 29 weeks and feeling ready for this little boy to come! lol. Pregnancy itself hasn't been too bad and I've gained about 14lbs so I'm feeling pretty good about that. Belly dweller has flipped my port up on its side so I'm always sore over there now, and he's got his legs tucked right under my ribs which are KILLING me! I've got all the typical pregnancy woes (sore back, swollen feet, cant sleep lol), but the only thing I'm still having some trouble with is keeping certain foods down, or foods of large volume even though my band is empty. I know it worries my husband sometimes but he seems to still question why I get sick if my band is empty. I think about that sometimes but I also know that over the years of having my band my stomach has shrunk a little, so trying to pack a ton of food in there still doesn't work. Anyways, just wanted to say hello to all of you beautiful ladies!!

    Just found out im 6weeks!

Congrats!!! Don't worry, you've been banded long enough to where you THINK you might want (or are) binge eating and you're really not. Just remember, you only need about 200-300 extra calories a day for baby, BUT don't try to diet or hold back on eating, just remember, moderation is key I'm 36wks pregnant and my port sticks out like a turkey timer, but it will go back after baby. So don't stress if one day it starts to hurt or "looks funny", its totally normal And no, baby will not tear it off the muscle wall, it might flip on its side, but it wont go anywhere. GOOD LUCK!

    Ouch, baby!

Dchapman-My son kicked my port so hard yesterday I could feel the muscle stretching. It hurt so bad. I've tried to explain to this child he's got two play toys he can play with in there, and THAT is not one of them LOL. And yes, I actually do have a bruise right around my site where he sits and kicks it all day. Mine also sticks out and people always are like "awww is that his foot?" and Im like "uh, no that's my port", and the look on their faces is usually priceless LMAO

    Cautiously posting

Congrats!!!! I had my doc prescribe me Zofran and that helped a ton! Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby for you!!!
  13. Happy Birthday to me :D

    Ouch, baby!

The port is sewn down, but when you get further into your pregnancy your muscles are moving and shifting therefor it can flip on its side (it cant flip entirely over since its sewn in but can move, shift, and flip). My port flipped about 6 months post op as well, but now its very visible and I can feel it tilted on its side, it will go back to its normal position after the baby is born and things start to move back to normal
  15. 4 more weeks and baby will be here!

Sparkles-how are things going? Did you see your surgeon and confirm the pregnancy?

Unfill during 2nd or 3rd trimester?

I always had to get completely unfilled in the beginning of my pregnancies, but you want to be comfortable and able to nourish you and that sweet little baby Remember, you got the weight off once, you'll be able to again. Enjoy your pregnancy and good luck!
  22. It's time to forget about the past, to wash away what happened last, Hide behind an empty face,Don't ask too much, just say,'Cause this is just a game'

  23. Don't give up, just remember the less he nurses the less you will produce since that's what your supply is "used to". It sounds like you are doing great, so don't stress too much. Believe me, I always had a hard time trying to get enough water in as well, but once you get into the habit of hydrating more you'll notice a difference. Honestly, I absolutely hate formula LOL so I do my darnest to breastfeed as much/as long as I can lol, plus its so expensive lol.

The lapband would have no effect on a miscarriage, so don't stress on that. Stress however, could. I am on band baby #2 and I've had healthy pregnancies/babies. Just get in to see your docs and work out a plan. You'll be fine. Congrats and good luck hun!! <3

    Diet after delivery

Most doctors will advise against any diets until at least after your 6-8 week check up. Having a baby is tough enough on your body, you dont want to throw it into a full blown shock by dieting right away either. If you plan to breastfeed (which WILL help get that weight off faster) you will just want to follow a healthy diet and drink plenty of water, which is a perfect place to start. Going on a liquid/soft diet will do more harm then good since your body will still need a lot of nutrients, etc to help you heal. Good luck!!!
