  1. Wow sorry you had such a hard time. I hope you will start feeling well soon!! I had no problems but know a few people who have but now that they are healed up they are feeling so much better physically and mentally. Hang in there it will get better!
  2. 2 weeks you must be excited! Don't be scared or nervous, it will be a breeze. I am 3½ weeks post op and doing good. Good luck and keep in touch!
  3. What is the shot for? Congratulations on your surgery. I pray everything goes great for you. I am 3½ weeks post op and doing good, never had any problems really a couple of stuck times but they were not bad at all.
  4. It will not be totally out of mind but it does help. Looks like your weight loss is good? Is all that post op? I am at 34 lbs and 3½ weeks post op
  5. Wow my Dr goes slow with fills. I have had 2 and I am 3cc total and not looking for one anytime soon.
  6. I was banded 3½ weeks ago. My husband eats all day long. He weighs the same as he did when I married him 29 years ago. He eat 3 meals a day plus Snacks all day and ice cream before bed. The cabinets are full of all his junk food. I also have a 3 year old grandbaby who likes papa's snacks. I just have my own cabinet and keep my stuff in there. If they leave something out I put in in their cabinet. I know all the goodies that are in there but I stay away from them. He has to eat too and would never want to make it worse on me. Heck I even buy it for the sknny-minnies. So maybe she is just hungry. Does she have a weight problem?
  7. A couple of us from Friendswood and Texas City Area have meet once for coffee or a bottle of water at Starbucks so we could talk about our experiece and would like others to join us. Men or Women are welcome. It doesn't matter what Dr you used we have different Drs. Also you could bring your spouse or a friend whatever makes you comfortable We are open to meeting anywhere that is public so people will feel safe. If you are interested just reply to this thread. It was really fun meeting others that are going through the same thing. We said an hour but we talked 2 hours. But people could and go as they want We thought we could meet once a month or more if some want to. Thanks!!
  8. I was banded on July 13, 2009. I am doing good I have only lost 34 lbs so far, i think it should be more but oh well. Christina: I am not sure how much I can eat but I stop at 3/4 cup anyway and seem to do ok. Even if you could eat more stop at a certain amount and I think you will see the scale move faster. Don't get discouraged 22 lbs is gone forever.
  9. I was self pay too! I went to seminar on Saturday and had Dr's Appointment right after seminar on the same Saturday. I had surgery 1½ days later at 6:00 am on Monday. So mine was really fast. Everything went great for me and I am doing good. Hope everything goes good for you. Keep in touch!!
  10. I suffer from clinical despression and I take meds for it. I did not notice my depression get worse I am 3½ months post op. I have talked to serveral people who had really bad depression after surgery, one even had to be put in the hospital for a while. Are you drinking all your Water and exercising? That makes a huge difference in how you feel! Try to think about it this way is now we have hope. I think that is what has helped me. HOPE!!!!
  11. You should be resting not worrying about this. You can deal with this later, Do not stress yourself out. Just give it to God and let Him handle it for you. I am praying for you!!!
  12. I agree with MEAGAN. It fill me up and kills any hunger if I have any. I drink decaffenated. My Dr had no restrictions either.
  13. I was band 07/13/09 and I am down 33 lbs all post op. I feel like I am losing really slow compared to some people. Last 2 weeks I have been up one pound then down one and then up one. Dr started me on a thyriod med and a new birth control pill and they are playing games with my weight. I have had only 2 fills for a total of 3cc.
  14. You can talk to me all you want. I will private message my e-mail to you.
  15. Hang in there sound like you are not doing too band. Just watch what you eat and keep working out. I am sorry you had such a problem with the ban. Hang in there!!
  16. Congratulation!! I am so happy. You will be banded before you know it.
  17. I was self pay in Houston $12,900 for Surgery and fills for a year. Dr. H. Spivak and I love him. A plane ticket to Houston might not be that much. Good luck
  18. Thanks Sarah1285. You do know a lot of information if I have any questions in the next couple of weeks I will private message you if that is okay? I have only been on it for 5 days counting today.
  19. Everyone is so nice and full of great information I really do thank all of you for your input. I needed it!!!
  20. Yes I am taking it on an empty stomach with a full glass of water and waiting at least an hour before eating anything. Thanks!
  21. Do you mean if he did not start me off on the right dose it could make me gain?
  22. I feel so much better hearing all this. I will be sure to follow all your advice as it does match what my Dr. said too. I am just happy I won't have to work double hard to lose the weight. Also I was tired of being tired all the time. I knew something was really wrong with me. I am glad to know what it is.
  23. Thank you all for your responses. My Dr. said I really needed to be on this. I have been so tired the last 6 months I felt like something might be really wrong. I also suffer from clinical depresssion so if this will help I want to take it. I was just worried about not being able to lose weight. This is the first pound I have gained up since surgery. My Dr. knows I have the band and we talked about and he said it would not make me gain but might make it easier to lose. But that one pound freaked me out along with the fact that I did not lose the 2 lbs I usually lose a week. He also told me to take 500 mg Niacin to take away any side effects of the synthroid. I am taking only 50mcg for 3 months and go back for blood test again to check. You have all made me feel better. I will give it more than 4 days to do it's stuff. But I do feel better today more alert By the way my TSH was 4.600 not that I know what that means.
  24. I have been banded for a little over 3 months. Just went to the Dr. for blood test he put me on Synthroid for Hypothyroidism. I have only been on it for 4 days but this week I lost no weight when I almost always lose 2 lbs, BUT the bad news is I gained a pound instead of losing I was wondering if people who are taking it are losing weight? I know I need to take it the med, but I am trying to lose weight. Anyone have any input? Thanks!!
  25. I have a special prayer request. Two people that I have meet on these boards are having really hard times. I have been praying for one for a while she is not banded yet but having a lot of medical problems as she waits for her surgery date. She is so sweet and nice and deserves to be out of some of the pain she is going through. The second person is someone who was banded last week and she is suffering such terrible depressiona and anxiety like I have never seen before. I suffer from depression and this is much deeper than anything I have dealt with in years. She is getting medical help and is soon starting in counseling but I would like to see her be touch by the Great Physican and there to be restoring of her mind. I really do not want to give their names but if you just pray for Cheri's special friends after you read this and whenever you can I will believe with you that God is with them and things will get better soon. Thanks for loving God and being there when His children need you!
