  3. Honestly I haven't really thought about it not getting approved, just waiting on my doctor's office to schedule my surgery date. I've switched insurance companies since I had my original surgery, and my new insurance does cover it. As far as any signs, I really didn't have any pain, I didn't even know that I had slipped till my doctor showed me on the xray. I do recall being able to eat more than usual so I made an appointment to get a fill. He said that it was a small slip and wanted to correct it so I wouldn't have any problems in the future. I was able to see my before and after x-rays and you can tell that it is not in the same positon. So now my band is pretty much empty and I am working out like crazy so that I don't gain to much weight.
  4. I am going through the same thing, I had a small slip and my doctor took all the fluid out of my band. I had to wait to weeks to see if it moved back into place. When I went back in 2 weeks all looked fine so he added some fluid. I had to go back a week later to check the band again, this time the band had moved again and he stated that I would need to have surgery to correct it. So now I'm just waiting on the insurance company to approve the surgery.
  5. I was banded 10/28/09, and had my first fill in Feb.2010, I didn't really start losing till March after my second fill. Keep doing what you have been doing, once you get more restriction you will start losing more.
  6. It's almost a year since I've been banded 10/28/09 and I'm down 60lbs!!! I've never felt or looked better and I do look good. When people ask me was the WLS worth it, I respond HECK YES, should have had it sooner. The only bad thing is having to buy new clothes but is that really a bad thing? I'm only 30lbs to my goal and I know that I will make it. Just wanted to share my success story with everyone.
  7. Same here I got a steriod shot on Monday and by Wednesday I had gained 4lbs. Untill I read ur post I wouldn't have thought it was the steriod shot. I'm down to my normal weight today so I'm glad.
  8. I got approval from Aetna on my first letter no problems.
  9. I took off for a week but wished I took more time. I made it throught my first day back but it took everything in me to make it. I was feeling like my old self on the 10 day after surgery.
  10. I had my surgery yesterday. Just to give you a short overview. My surgery was scheduled at 10:30am, I arrived at the surgery center at 9:00am. I was quickly taken to the back and undressed and had an IV put in. I guess I was really nervous because I had to go the the bathroom about 5 times within an 1 hour period. So 10:30 came and went, I was advised that my doctor was running late and would be there about 12pm. So I just laid there the staff was really nice I was only allowed 1 vistor but they let my mother and sister come back and sit with me. I started to make a run for it when my IV came out but I didn't. The last thing I remember was laughing with my mother and sister as they were taken me back at 12:30pm. I have to say that my stomach doesn't really hurt but the gas is unbearable, I've never flet anything like this before. Good news is that I feel alot better today than yesterday. I've been up walking and holding a pillow seems to help me. Just wanted to share my experiece with everyone.
  11. Well tomorrow starts a new journey in my life. I'm not sure why but I'm not nervous at all. Guess it really hasn't hit me that I'm really going to do this. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time and I'm really glad that it's here. For anyone who reads this posting please say a prayer for me and my doctor for tomorrow morning 10:30AM.
  12. Hi, let me know how your surgery goes, I'm scheduled for 10/28/09. Good luck!
  13. My surgery is set for Oct. 28 at 830am. This is all happening so fast just got approved Monday!
  14. Got a call from the doctors office today letting me know that Aetna has approved my surgery. To tell you the truth I didn't expect to hear so soon, my paperwork was submitted on 9/8/09. Now I'm just waiting on a surgery date will keep you posted.
  15. Thanks, I know the feeling. It seems like it took forever for my stress test to come back. Praying that you results will be back quickly.
  16. Just got back from my last 2 doctor's appointments today. I was advised that the doctor's office will submit my paperwork to the insurance company and I may hear something in 2 weeks. I'm praying that I get a quick approval! :sneaky:
  17. Hey BooCakes Have you tried calling the insurance company to see what the heck they are talking about? I would call them first and then call the doctor's office. They will be glad to help you and you are correct they should know exactly what to send. Let me know how it goes. I have the same insurance and will submit my paperwork next week.
