Hello, I just joined the forum. I was just about to go for my consultation and the doctors office called and advised me that BCBS of FL will not cover the procedure. I work in NJ but my home office is out of FL. I spoke to my HR person and they advised that there is nothing they can do. I'm sure I'm not the first person to run into this problem. I have heard the story of people appealing the decision, but its already stated in my policy that the procedure is not covered. Has anyone been in my situation and had any success of getting approval from health insurance? If so, who do I contact and what supporting information would I need to get them to approve it? I am over 100lbs overweight and I'm currently on medication for high blood pressure and hypertension. My primary care physician has advised me that the surgery would be a good idea to better my quality of life and will help my current and possible future health problems. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Steve
