  1. You go girl. Good luck to you, I'll be watching your progress the next 6 months until I get mine.
  2. Woo Hoo. This will be the best date you've ever been on! Good Luck to you.
  3. Well, I think I found my place. I have been reading in the "50s" group, but I think this is where I belong. I am 59 and starting my journey to bandland as I see some call it. I have done the info mtng, psych, dietitian, and tomorrow is the sleep study cons. My DH is 63 and it looks like maybe he will follow after my lead. He says lets get me through it first. I took a look at myself and thought "heck, you're almost 60 and better get a grip on yourself girl". So here I am. I'll be lurking and reading, maybe even asking some questions along the way. Oh, I feel so much more comfortable here!:tongue2:
  4. Good Luck, it will be over with before you know it.
  5. Good Luck Good Luck Good Luck To you all!!!!
  6. Good Luck (fingers crossed ++).
  7. Hi Abigail. I am into the second month of a 6 month diet pre banding. Mine has to be supervised and I have to see a dietician twice during that time. My PCP just put me on a 2000 calorie daily diet, along with keeping a food diary. The dietician brought that down to about 1400-1600 calories daily, with emphasis on protein. I agree you better check for sure with your insurance. You don't want to do anything wrong to postpone your surgery. Good Luck
  8. Hi Margie, I'm Margie too! I am in the midst of a 6 month supervised diet, doing appts paperwork etc. I won't be banded until spring. It will be fun to follow your progress. Good Luck
  9. Hi all. I am just starting to read and decide about getting banded. I started this a year ago, but am really serious now. I just don't know.I have talked to my family doctor and she has told me about the group here that does the surgey and that I should go to the talk they give at the hospital. So that is in my future. I'm 59, 80 lbs overweight and I have Fibromyalgia, arthritis and asthma, degenerative discs in my back and I need knee replacements. Wow...that sounds like a lot when I actually see it in print! I know it all would be better with weight loss. I'll enjoy reading through the posts and gaining info from you all.
