  1. I have chickened out guys! I think I'm going to give it one last attempt to lose the weight and then if I'm not able to do it, I will do the surgery. I don't know if my nerves has gotten the best of me or what, but I feel that I need to at least give it one last attempt to lose on my own. The risks are just too high for me to not give it one last honest try! I truly feel that I can do it this time. Wish me luck! I have 60 lbs to lose overall. I purposely gained over 20 lbs just to have the surgery! Damn!
  2. Congrats on your surgery. I also use to work in Yanceyville. I was a Correctional Officer for 3 years. Thanks for the support. I am anxiously waiting! I hope my insurance company is a nice to me as they were to you:) Take care and keep us posted.
  3. Hello, My name is Mandie. I am from Roxboro, NC. I am 37 years old. I have a 15 year old daughter and I just got engaged Valentines Day of this year. I am 681/2 tall and weigh 236lbs. I turned in my application just yesterday to have the lap band surgery. I am so tired of struggling with this weight! It has been a constant struggle since the birth of my daughter in 1995. I pray that my insurance company will let me have this surgery. Is anybody familiar with Blue Cross/Blue Shields (Teachers and State Employees) Insurance? Are they going to make it hard for me to proceed with this surgery? Any experiences? I wish everyone the best of luck on this journey. Congratulations to you guys who have been through this and are enjoying the life that was meant for you to have.
  4. Thanks. But this makes me so sad to hear. I don't have a problem with loosing weight, my problem is with keeping it off. I just don't know what to do at this point.
  5. Help, I am 5ft 9 1/2 inches in height. I weigh 230lbs. I was told that I needed to weigh at least 240lbs in order to have the surgery done. Do any of you know of any doctor that will give me the surgery at my current weight. I want to be at 170 lbs. I am 60 lbs from my ideal weight but 10 lbs from the lapband. Please help!
