  1. You could have a partial block from something that got stuck in your band. With a partial block, some food, especially liquids and soft foods will still go down for a while but you'll start swelling and it will get more and more uncomfortable. If that happens, get to your doctor. It's an easy fix. They just take the fluid out and have you drink water to flush the food through. Sometimes they keep the fluid out for a few days if they think you've swelled to let the swelling go down.
