  1. SOOO...I had my 1st fill 2 weeks ago and am going for another on Sept. 1st. I only had restriction for less than a week. I eat very healthy and find it HARD to hit my 1000-1200 cals a day! I know this will only get harder when i get more restriction and eat less. I have not lost any weight since my fill. I know eating under the required calories can cause you to not lose weight also. Anyways...Last week was a crazy week and I ate fast food alot because I was never home. So i was prob hitting 1200 cals if not a LITTLE more. I DROPPED 4 lbs!! AND I WAS EATING BAD! My personal trainer friend said its cause my body was needing more cals to generate my metabolism. SO...if this is the case, how do I get my 1000-1200 cals but eating healhty and not fast food?? On a normal basis i get maybe 700 cals a day! I dont know what to do! Please help!
  2. Hey! Im 9 weeks post op. I had bad shoulder pain the 2nd week post op but it went away and I have not had it for awhile now. Im a teacher and we recently went back to work and we have been sitting in meetings. I noticed after an hour or more of sitting, I get BAD shoulder pains!! Anyone get this??
  3. I have beeb losing weight pretty steady the first 3 weeks post op then ddnt lose any. I had my first fill most 2 weeks ago. I went down 6 lbs the first week, now Ive gained it back. Im getting another fill on sept 1. My doc said I might have lots of restriction at first cause my stomach is getting used to the new tightness, once that wore off, my appetite it back and I gained weight....its weird!
  4. I got my first fill 1 week ago (3cc in a 10 cc band) and I have restriction, Big time! I mean not too much cause I can get things down and Ya I have to eat SMALL bites I chewed WELL or it gets stuck and it hurts so much more when it gets stuck after a fill then before I got one. Im a cash patient and only get 3 free fills before I have to pay 300$ each so I told my surgeon to not be conservative with my first fill. Im very happy with the restriction. I have already lost 5 lbs since I got it!
  5. About week 3 I felt like I had nothing done and was eating normally
  6. Grandma- Thanks for the response. I am on liquids yes. Im having problems finding them to stick. What have you found to really do well and stick for a long time. What is your diet like right now?
  7. I just had my 1st fill (3cc) and my doc was going to put 4 cc in, but thought it was too much right now. He said if I need more he will do it. I am curious on how this is supposed to feel. I can for sure tell I am not as hungry. When I drink Water, I do have to go slow cause if I go to fast it kinda hurts. I just got it yesterday so I dont know yet. I just had Soup for lunch and it seemed to go down smooth. I am burping a lot. How did you feel after your first fill? How did you know you needed more in your or some taken out? I just want to make sure what I am feeling is normal.
  8. Hey Diana!! Good to see you get on!!!
  9. So lets get this thing going!! I'm ready for it! Sioux, are u taking charge at heading it up??
  10. Thanks for your feedback! This restriction thing is NICE!! I have a yogurt at 5:30pm and its 10pm now and Im still not hungry. FINALLLYY!!!! Drinking water is scary...I get it down but it makes me burp and if I drink too big of a gulp, it hurts....sip sip sip
  11. Had my first fill today! YEAH!! I was in major need! I went 6 weeks before I got one and had like no restriction. Ok so my doc was gonna do 4 cc but decided that was too much so I got 3 cc and Im doing good. My question is: He wants me on liquid for 2 weeks!!! Anyone else have to go on liquids that long after your first fill? Most people I thought was only liquid one day then mushies 1 day then all was well. Would love your feedback on how many CC's you got on your first fill and what your diet was after!
  12. Im allowed to eat anything the day of my fill even up to my appointment. I just have rules after the fill
  13. YEAH! Congrats! I get my first one tomorrow! Im sooo excited!! How did u feel before you got it? Did u have a full appetite? Were you able to eat anything?? I'm just curious
  14. its called "ANY WHEY" not just any whey protein powder
  15. Any Whey Protein Powder...You can put it in anything and bake with it!
  16. I have a good friend who is Naik's patient who just had it done 2 weeks ago....sure she would be interested also!
  17. Thanks CECE...My best friend is very small and fit and has been pushing me!! I wouldnt be here without her! I am young and I know this is the time for me to make a change while I can! I wouldnt say Im "fit" yet but man I am on my way!!
  18. Hey! I am an exercise freak!! I was aloud to start little walking day 4. I would walk slow on the treadmill or around the house. At 2 weeks I was given permission to fully exercise. I wasnt allowed to life more than 10 lbs. After 3 weeks I could lift anything. I am now 5 weeks and I work out HARDCORE 6 days a week. It makes a difference!! I have lost tons of inches even though the scale isnt moving. An example of my exercise: Mon, wed, fri I kick box, Hop Hop Abs or Tae Bo. I do it for at least an hour. Sometime I do it 2-3 times a day. They are intense work outs. Tue, thur, sat, I go walking for 2-6 miles a day and yoga or pilates. If youre at 3 1/2 week you need to get going! :cool2: Exercise makes all the difference. The only issues I have had are when I do too much incorporating my left side where my port is, it gets sore like a pulled muscle. My surgeon said Im not hurting anything. I need to build up the muscle. I was able to do sit up and everything at 2 weeks! Have fun!
  19. Im in the same boat. I was banded June 16th, so I just passed 5 weeks. I dont feel like I even have this thing in me. I barely feel any restriction at all. I eat smaller amounts, but have a full appetite. I am hungry all the time! I do work out HARDCORE 6 days a week so I know I am burning a lot and my body is wanting fuel. My first fill is Aug 3rd. They would have done it at 5 weeks cause I NEED IT, but Im going on vacation and didnt wanna chance anything. This is for sure a horrible stage! But I also have heard this is not the time to worry about weight loss, just healing. I am fortunate enough to have lost 23 lbs during it. I have been at a stand still now for 2 1/2 weeks. Cant wait for a fill!! Hang in there and know there are others just like you going through the same "hell"!! We can do it!!
  20. I do hard candies a lot! I love sugar free coffee candies and sugar-free werthers and jolly ranchers. They help fight cravings. I was told no gum, but the concern is only if its swallowed. Im very careful and havent swallowed a piece of gum since I was a kid. Just be careful! :cool2:
  21. I was banded with an empty band and I dont have my 1st fill till Aug 3rd. The first week after surgery, liquids filled me up just fine. I had good restriction due to the swelling. At about 1.5-2 weeks, my appetite was getting larger and I wasnt staying full as long. Now at 5 weeks, I am so ready for a fill. I am always hungry!! Everyone heals differently!
  22. Im currently almost 5 weeks post op still on mushies and yes it gets hard!! Be careful! You will get to a point where you are able to eat antyhing and your appeitite is back. It is really scary. Thats where I am now. I get so scared and Im so sick of soft food. I eat really anything right now, but still healthy. I dont get my first fill till Aug 3rd. Mushies will fill u up for awhile but be prepared for them to not be so filling after a couple weeks, once healing has gone down. Hang in there!
  23. OH YA!! Im only 23 lbs down and none of my shoes fit!! I was not expecting that!
