  1. Hey all, I'm seriously looking into doctors now and would like to know what is the average waiting period for having surgery in mexico if anyone is scheduled for surgery down there I would love to hear how far in advance most surgeons will need you to schedule. Also has anyone had surgery in Ensenada?
  2. Thanks K...I will definitely research more now that you mention the "outdated" lap band due to more maintenance. However having 2/3 of your stomach permanently removed makes me a little nervous, but if that's what it takes...
  3. Hello, my name is Jeannie and I'm also looking into the lap band procedure in Mexico, it seems like a good option especially when you are on a budget. I see so many different doctors offering the lap band package at very low prices, even the sleeve at what seems to be cheap compared to the prices here in the U.S. I am still trying to get as much information as possible to decide on one procedure or the other so hopefully I can get some feedback from forum members that have had the experience. Have any of you lap band patients had second thoughts or wished you had gotten the sleeve surgery instead?:tongue2:
  4. Hi to everyone. I'm posting for the firs time on this forum, and after lots and lots of reading and thinking and more reading I've decided to start my serious quest into getting a lap band. I've talked it over with friends and relatives and some think it's a bad idea, some think its the way to go. I know I want to get it because I NEED to lose this excess baggage that I've been carrying on me for the better part of my life. I know I need it because I've tried every conceivable diet, some pills...exercise... and cannot keep the weight off for more than a couple of months at a time. I know that this is my only hope now, surgery. I want to think the lap band is the best option for me although I've also looked into the gastric sleeve and the pros and the cons are hard to weigh. I would like to be able to talk to more people that have had both......I tend to prefer the band because the stomach cutting makes me a little nervous. I'm glad I found this forum and hopefully I can make a few friends that can help me and accompany me on this what seems to be a difficult journey. Thanks for reading my post all and have a great weekend. Jeannie:rolleyes2:
