My story seems to be more common than I had ever imagined!  I am a 28 year old Mother and Wife.  I have 2 amazing babies that am lucky enough to stay home with!   I have been thinking about some sort of WLS for about 5-6 years now...  I worked with Kaiser about 3 years ago and was denied a gastric bypass after my first attempt... then a few weeks later I became prego with my son, so I left the idea alone for about 2 years now.  Since I have tried countless diets and pills... exercise programs!  ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I could afford.  I have had a lot of negative comments from friends about getting a ANY kind of help with my weight loss because they have no idea how it feels to be me.  I can't stand one more day being over 250 lbs.  I have been fat all my life and I'm tired of the mininal success I get for my other attemps.  It's not just a few vanity pounds I have to lose... It's OVER 115 lbs!  I have started to have symptoms of diabetes and hypertension.  My Mother has all of the comorbides needed to get the surgeries!   I have non officially but have a family history of them all!  Hypertension, Sleep Apnea, Stress Incontinence, Back pain, Joint pain, Type 2 Diabetes... yo neme it my Mom has it.  She's only 189lbs... I'm just young... but my body is becoming more and more unable to hold my weight.  The breaking point was having to quite the local Roller Derby team due to being unable to keep up with the girls.  I have always thought I could get right back out there and regain my athleticism plus just let the weight melt off as I played a sport... but out on the rink I was almost deathly wrong!  My legs would buckle and cramp under the pressure of my 250+ frams and I would constantly fall... not from being uncoordinated... but from being out of shape.  One day my legs gave out as I was doing a knee slide and I fell.  I fell smack on the back of my head! Although I had a helmet on, THANK GOD!  I had a concussion and was unable to manuever for the next 2 days... This was the point where I knew that anything I needed help with my weight loss... more than a trainer or a diet could give... So I began searching for Docs.  Unfortunately I couldn't qualify for self pay option in the US due to my credit history.  The recession had hit us hard and we got behin on a ton of bills.  So, Mexico seemed my only option.  I was a little afraid of the Mexico option at first... with all the negative stuff on the news with the swine flu and the horror stories of losing kidneys! lol... but when I did my research I found that thousands of people go to Mexico and have had AMAZING results!  I researched hospitals and Surgeons and talked with past patients... it was so cool to know that this could be my saving grace.  So I found a Doc that I think fits my needs and interest (Dr. Ramos Kelly in TJ)  and I'm starting the process of getting a date and working out the kinks of travel and etc.  I hope so bad that this all works out for the best possible outcome.  There are always fears with ANY kind of surgery... and even the BEST surgeon makes a mistake... so I know tha risks... and I'm still raring to go!  I know that this is the best choice for me!:)
