  1. Josette, I have major scale addiction, I weigh myself at least every other day! sometimes twice in one day! I was trying to figure out what time and day I weigh the least in the begining and I found that I weigh less on the weekends and the most on Wed. lol I also weigh the least in the morning which is normal and... I NEVER weigh myself at that time of the month  Thats just depressing lol
  2. You could tell them that you are having surgery but dont tell them what kind, just say minor out-pt surgery, nothing serious and leave it at that. I have told everyone (I'm not good at secrets  ) but sometimes it comes back to haunt me. Like when I havent lost in a week and someone asks me how much I've lost and I have to say the same thing I said last week it gets me a bit down, but it also helps me to keep on track knowing everyone is watching. So I guess its good and bad to have everyone know. Also, my family gave me a lot of negative feedback when I was at your stage but now that they see that I'm okay and I'm healthier and losing the weight they have nothing but compliments and hugs all around so dont worry so much about other people, do it for you and only you...
  3. So I was stalled at 32lbs lost for 2 weeks, then last night I was very very bad, I went out for Mexican food.... I ordered Queso Fundito (sp?) and I had 2 flour shells with it and some refried beans....I felt guilty, so guilty that I woke up in the middle of the night and HAD to weigh myself...I had LOST a pound! I was in shock, I thought "okay, my eyes must be too foggy to read this right...I'll try again in the morning" So I weighed myself in the morning and I had dropped two more pounds! I lost 3 lbs over night after eating mexican food, flour shells and all....I really think there is something to the increase in calorie thing....I might just have to do mexican everytime I dont lose for a couple weeks LOL J/K!!
  4. its okay!! thanks for updating me....
  5. I'm not updated on this list.... I am 32 lbs down and my first fill is monday Oct 2nd!
  6. Faybie... you look amazing!! I definately see a lot of change in your face! Thanks to everyone for your comments, its so encouraging when people notice it too, it means it's not all in my head lol  I have my first fill on monday and I am going to go ahead with it, I haven't had any restriction for a few days now and will power is not something I possess! I havent gained or lost anything in about 2 weeks now so I'm looking forward to seeing the scale move again! Wish me luck!
  7. Pebbles, I'm glad you got your ice cream!! I bought a ben and jerry's 2 weeks ago and I nibble at it every now and again but its nice to have when I'm having a bad day and need a little pick me up! I'm also glad that you got out of the house for a bit, I get that way about staying at home too long too.....keep your chin up and congrats on the NSV!!!

  9. WOW that list is very unreadable.......who posted the first list?? I wonder if they have it saved???
  10. Hey guys I just posted these on the before and after pics page and I thought I'd share them with you too! The first is me and my fiance about 2 months pre-op and the second is me today 32 lbs gone for good!! :clap2:
  11. Faybie, I felt weird about telling people at first too but I found that the people that I really didn't want to know ended up being some of my biggest supporters once I just gave up and told everyone. My fiance's mom never seemed to want to bond with me (she lives far away) but when she found out about the surgery she sent me a beautiful card with a note inside about her battle with weight and how she's there for me to vent if I need her. I thought it was very thoughtful and supportive of her to reach out to me like that. I dont know its just my opinion but I suggest just telling her...... As far as the drinking while eating, I do....I take small sips to help not feel dry. I work a job where I can't sip water all day and I dont want to gulp it when I get the chance to drink so I've been drinking whenever I can just to get it in. Is is worse to not drink enough water or to not drink with meals???? Dunno, but my weightloss has been fine so for now it works for me lol
  12. Hey guys, sory I haven't written in awhile, I moved this weekend and I havent had internet until last night and it took me till this morning to catch up! Its great that everyone is still checking in and posting their experiences! I have my first fill scheduled for Oct 2nd but I'm not sure I'll end up getting it. Right now I can eat anything except bread but I can't eat a lot and I'm losing consistantly. I had my 2nd post op visit on Monday and I had lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks. So I only have 2 lbs left for my Oct 1st goal! I don't remember who asked if anyone else was considering waiting for the first fill but I am....
  13. thanks for the peanut tip, I'll have to try that! I am eating a lot of protein though, like today I had turkey lunch meat and white american cheese for lunch with no bread and it stayed with me for a long time....I'm just now starting to feel hungry about 4 hours later. Its just hard to take that with me to eat so I'll have to try the peanuts!
  14. Hey guys, I have been cheating a little too! I started soft foods last Friday and have lost 5 pounds this week but I'm not eating very healthy again. I am working full time, in grad school full time and currently moving! Not much time to prepare food....I've had wendy's baked potato and three chicken nuggets a couple times and taco bell chicken taco a couple times....not very healthy but definatley less than I would have eaten before. Also as of yesterday I have no restriction! I have felt like a bottomless pit! I have been constantly snacking on pretzels to keep full but I;m not even sure I can have them yet. I guess I just need a fill....I go see my Dr monday so I'll talk to him then...
  15. I stalled for 8 days, 3 of which were liquid and 5 were purreed, once I startred incorporating soft (more caloric) foods I started losing again. I think there is a relationship between increasing calories and actually losing weight....odd huh?
  16. oooh, by the way.... I've broken my sand still, I lost 2 lbs this week!!!
  17. the refried beans with sour cream guac and taco sauce was my first "meal" post liquids too!! Thats funny that we all craved the same thing!
  18. I had the bad breath thing until I started on more "real" foods...I think it is ketosis and not chewing put together. I also had bumps on the back of my tounge for awile that bugged me... I am still at a stand still with my weight which is surprising for me because I have been working out alot on top of still not eating much. I can tell that my restriction is lessening but its definately still there and I've painted three times this week (we are moving into a new house next week) and when I paint its for like 6 hours at a time! Then on top of that I'm riding my bike too... I guess I should be happy to be maintaining but I'd really like to feel like this is working for me. I go to the Dr in two weeks and I'm afraid that I will be at the same weight as my last visit last week! I guess I'm just paranoid.....
  19. It sounds like EVERYONE is at a stand still with the scale, thats so odd since we are all at different stages. I have moved on to the purreed stage as of yesterday (just 2 days early, but I was starting to gag on soup!) and everything seems to be going down fine, I had veg. refried Beans with mushed up avacados for lunch and then a "purreed grilled cheese sandwich" for dinner. The grilled cheese sounded gross but it was actually very yummy, I decided that I am going to purree it with a little tomato soup next time instead of the milk! YUM I seem to have much more energy eating the purrees verses the liquids so thats good since my job is so demanding. My gas pain is totally gone now and my port site is just a little tender at times still. The only pain I am having now is the incision right above my belly button, at work the counters are at the perfect height to hit it every time I do anything so I think it's just getting hit too much, any suggestions??? Other than that I'm feeling great and even though I havent lost in 5 days now I havent gained either, and I have been getting more and more people noticing the weight I have lost so thats good too!! I'm still looking to lose 8 lbs in Sept....I can't wait to start seeing the scale move again!
  20. Hey Guys!!! I'm so glad we are going to do the monthly thing, its a great idea! I have also been stalled for the last 4 days at 25 lbs down I think we'll all start losing again once our bodies adjust to our new routines. My Oct. 1st goal will be 8 lbs, 2 lbs per week sounds reasonable.....
  21. so now that the month is over, will we all keep in touch??? will this forum continue so we can see each other's progress?? I hope so!!
  22. Am I losing weight too fast??? I have been losing at a rate of 2 pounds a day, I thought it was getting slower because yesterday I hadn't lost any but then today I got on and I had lost 4! I mean dont get me wrong I dont mind the weight falling off but I do want to be healthy about this and not hurt my body too.... Is anyone else losing that much post op???
  23. I haven't actually tried drinking out of a straw yet but I go back to work on Wed and I know I'll want to so I was just wondering what everyone thought!! I think I might discuss it with my surgen when I go for my post-op tomorrow....
  24. I am only 6 days post-op and my Doctor recomends that I not drink out of a straw for 6 months, and I work at Starbucks and drink from a straw 24/7. Has anyone else been told this?? Do you follow it?? Please shed some light on this very strange post-op rule....
  25. I'm only 6 days out and I'm not craving ice, but maybe that's because I'm on a Flinstones Vitamin w/ iron, dunno. However, I am craving to be able to eat meat again! What's weird about that is that I've never been a big meat eater, I was actually a vegitarian for 2 years! I dont know why I'm craving it but I know I can't wait to have a burger lol
