  1. I will be here to give you any support you need. Please drop me an email. Also go to the chat rooms here. The nicest people you ever wanted to meet. I am being banded next Wednesday 7/29 and I got the jitters and all the support for this website has really helped me.
  2. Hi Melissa. First of all congrats to you for being so brave and making such a big step!!! I am glad to hear you are feeling well. I get banded in one week 7/29. Good to hear you are healing well. Give's me hope

Maybe the food was too greasy. Did you eat rice? That may be the culprit......
  5. Don't fall into the last supper syndrome. You will be able to have food but less of it. You will make healthy choices and feel good about yourself. I bought a book, "Weight loss Surgery for Dummies" and it really helped me. As for other people, who cares what they think. If you feel comfortable sharing with them, do so. You are not obligated to give any explanations. Good luck!!!
  6. You look amazing. You are an inspiration and a hero!!! I have a question. What happens now that you are at your goal. Do you "unfill" the band??
  7. I am getting banded next Wednesday 7/29 and have started with the shakes. I find that blended fruit makes them SO much better. I plan on buying a magic bullet for work. I also bought powdered, lowfat peanutbutter from a website called Bell Plantation (do a search for it). You can add a scoop to your shakes and will have all the benefits of protein without the added fat. I have not been able to get down a shake with no added fruit, although I am a newbie :wink2:
  8. I am being banded on July 29th. No pre-op diet required by my doctor but I have been having shakes for lunch to prepare. I go in for Pre-Admission testing on Monday. So excited to be on the losing side!!!
  9. Good Luck tomorrow. Take care of yourself and congrats in taking this big step to improve your health!:scared2:
  10. I don't know why you need to be on clear liquids at all. My doctor allows a full liquid diets with Blended fruit the first 2 weeks. Be sure to get your protein in. I know others suggested the Unjury chicken broth. Good Luck and you can get through this. You are worth it :scared2:
  11. Today Marks the 2 week countdown until my surgery on July 29th. My doctor does not require a pre-op diet but yesterday I began replacing a protein shake for lunch. I am trying different brands. I had an Unjury, which was very good but I don't like the fact it has Nutrisweet in it. Last night I connected with someone who has the same doctor and went through the same program and it was really beneficial. I am thankful to have some reassurance regarding how the process went. I have pre-admission testing on July 21st and my pre-surgery appointment with the doctor on July 23rd. I am trying to lose some weight for that appointment because I gained a couple pounds since I saw him last  But I will be on the losing end from now on. I appreciate the support and encouragement I have received from this website....:blushing:

  15. Hi! I was also told to hit a goal of 75 grams of protein a day. I am having my surgery on July 29th and I have tried a variety of shakes. The nutritionist told me without this amount of protein, hair loss will occur.
  16. HI Everyone, I got my surgery date-----JULY 29th. Yah! My doctor didnt' metion anything about a liquid diet before surgery and it's making me nervous, since so many of you have been put on it.
