  1. B--Protein shake S-Lowfat yogurt L-3 thin slices of turkey rolled with 1 slice of LF cheese 1/4 cup edamane S-5 slices of cucumber D-2 oz of chicken breast with a little spinach and pepper on top couple bites of broccoli. S- sugar free fudge pop FYI--THE BODY CAN'T ABSORB MORE THAN 30 GRAMS OF Protein AT ONCE. IT DOES NOT STORE PROTEIN LIKE IT DOES CARBS AND FAT. If you have a 60 gram shake, you are wasting your $$ and not getting in protein!!!!!
  2. Go on only protein shakes for as long as you can to clear your system out. You need to get the cravings out of your system. Then start journaling all your food intake. lastly THROW OUT ANY JUNK YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOUSE! Food additiction is so tough. You deserve to look and feel good. Don't sacrifice what you want at the moment for your long term goals!!~! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
  3. You look BEAUTIFUL! Keep up the good work girl!
  4. Keep following up with the insurance company regarding the 6 month waiting period. When I was looking to revise from the evil lap band to the sleeve, they had a 6 month diet and I found out they were getting rid of that requirement so I started the process after that. My first apt with the doctor was the last week of November 2010 and I was sleeved January 3, 2011!!!! GOOD LUCK
  5. You will feel better, just keep drinking fluids. I can't tell you how much that has helped me, even with hunger. As for the hunger, I am 10 weeks out tomorrow and about 2 weeks ago, it went away. I also find that chewing gum helps with head hunger a lot! (Although some people on here say their doctor says not to chew gum). Working around food must be difficult. Be sure to have the proper amount of snacks/meals with you. I applaud you for going back to work so soon. I wasn't emotionally ready to go back until I was eating regular food. I stayed out 4 weeks. It will get better, I promise
  6. I felt absolutely PERFECT after 4 weeks. So good that I took the kids sledding and I went down the hill a few times. Haven't done THAT since I was a kid!!!
  7. AWWW! You are perfectly okay to have a melt down! This is a SUPPORT group site! Thats why we are all here for eachother. It has NOTHING to do with not "doing research!" I researched like crazy and I was NOT prepared for the utter regret that I felt after surgery. I felt the same with the sip sip sip crap too! LOL As a matter of fact, as I was chugging my Water today I thought of sipping and laughed. Before you know it you will feel great and back to normal. Your feelings are temporary and it will get better!! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!
  8. I think you just came in contact with some germs. I haven't even had ONE headache since surgery. It's amazing.
  9. I was 245 the day of surgery and 8 weeks out was 199!!!!
  10. ...after you have finished your meal at a restaurant (and there is a full plate left) ..the waitress asks "Was everything okay with your meal?" LOL
  11. Since surgery I have never chewed MORE gum. It helps with cravings and aids in digestion. Chewing gum really helps me when I have "head hunger." It may not work for everyone but works for me. I have never gotten gas or anything from it and I don't have reflux either.
  12. I love wine and couldn't wait to have my first glass! I waited until 9 weeks post of and it was like heaven! LOL
  13. This surgery was NO JOKE!!!!! It was a tough recovery and so much to learn to do. You have to do the same thing that every other person does. The only difference it that you get full quick and stay full longer. You have to work JUST AS HARD as other people who have not had surgery. You have to steer clear of foods and exercise!! We got this surgery because we took getting healthy seriously....seriously enought to dissect parts of our stomach and go through surgery! Don't make light of your brave choice.
  14. My stomach is probably in some dumpster somewhere but I do have nice pictures of my new, cuter stomach with adorable little staples!!! TRUE STORY: in high school my teacher had a hysterectomy and brought her ovarys complete with huge fibroid cysts in to show the class. She was a biology teacher...LOL
  15. You are doing great and you will continue to do great! Imagine yourself walking around with 70 extra pounds!!! You have accomplished am amazing task!! Be Proud!
  16. I work with a trainer and did killer ab work starting 5 weeks out. My doctor okayed spinning after 4 weeks. (I also took my kids sledding 4 weeks out). I was allowed to go on a treadmill after 2 but I wasn't up to it yet. I am 9 weeks out and my trainer works me so hard, I can't laugh without pain!!! LOL----no pain---no gain.
  17. I am hoping that the toast didn't get stuck somewhere. I have heard that happening. Call your doctor tomorrow and see if you can get an upper GI, I have heard on threads that pieces of food get stuck in the esophagus and it feels terrible. Good Luck
  18. I am also a believer of setting hard goals...Mine was 20 pounds a month for the first 2 month and I reached my goal. Keep working it girl! You are doing a great job!
  19. I am almost 9 weeks out and there is no way I could get that much food down....and I haven't tried toast yet. Did you take tiny bites and eat slow?? Paying attention to your body signals is very hard to learn. I don't know if in the past you have gotten that much food down but be sure to take a bite, chew, think, chew, then take another bite. Unless it's cereal, I can only get down about 3/4 cup of food. Good Luck and feel better...this sure is a learning experience!
  20. As a former LapBand person, I truly know the pain involved with getting food stuck! BE sure you get an upper GI. After I had a severe stuck episode and removal of my fluid I had a FULL slip. My entire stomach slipped through the band and it clamped off the bottom of my stomach. There is no words to describe the pain that was. I had the band emergency removed then the gastric sleeve a little over a year later. And I gained the 50lbs I lost back. From experience I can tell you that the sleeve is a more involved recovery but a MUCH NORMAL way of living. I just eat less. Look into the revision and fight it if necessary. Age should have nothing to do with it. Good Luck
  21. That is such an important milestone!!! Good for you!
  22. I had the Mirena 2 years before surgery and barely got a period. Right after I was sleeved I got my period BAD for about 2 weeks. I think it was just my body thrown into shock by the surgery and meds. I am fine now.
  23. My doctor had me scheduled to stay 2 nights and I asked to be discharged the next day which he agrees to. I hate being in the hospital!!! Feels like prison to me.
  24. That was happening to me and I increased my fluid intake. I also changed my food times around. I have my coffee in the am and wait until I get to work to have my cereal. I then started having a yogurt for lunch. Since I changed my food times, I found I am not getting hungry, ( and yes..I had real hunger too). Be sure to get your 2 cups of milk in a day, it helps with hunger too.
  25. I use the fat secret app for my iphone! I love it! I can scan the barcodes from the food I eat and it enters the nutritional information. All I have to do it adjust the serving size. Good Luck
