Might have been a bad idea....Lemon???
My doctor told me that after two weeks, a person has a "zero percent" (his words) chance of a leak. With that being said, I am sure it was just too much acidity from the lemon.....and WOW I could never have eaten a lemon straight!! (even before surgery! LOL Good Luck!

Restrictions after Band to Sleeve Revision Surgery
My doctor didn't really give me any restrictions. He said not to drive when I'm on pain meds. I have a 5 and 8 year old. My husband took of the first week and that was a big help. By a week out I was feeling much better. To be honest, the first few days home all I did was wander around because it was uncomfortable to sit or lay down. After a few days, I only took pain meds a night .. and by a wee, out, I didn't need them. Get help for a week and u will be fine!!

My band failed me 8 years after having it now opting for sleeve
The band was hell for me. I am so glad I have my sleeve. It's a much more normal of life. No horrible food stuck feeling. The recovery is much for involved but it's worth it.

11 days post-op and, oh, the constipation!!
Miralax did NOT work for me. The doctor told me to get these pills called "Peri-colace" They worked like a charm! They used to be available only by a RX but now they are over the counter. They are expensive ($18) but worth it. I now be sure I eat pineapple and other fruits that begin with a "P" They all help with constipation.

Sleeved 3 days ago and feeling terrible.
IT WILL GET BETTER!!! You have a few more days. Each day you will wake up and feel better. Call you doctor and ask if you can take dilaudid 4mg. They are tiny pills and okay to swallow. I took them around the clock the first few days and just at night the next few days. After the first week, I didn't really need them. I had some pain from teh drain but not too bad. YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS!! Your regrets are perfectly natural! ((((((HUGS)))))))

TMI aunt flow will be here for surgery what did you do
When i had the Lap Band I got my period as well. They didn't allow a tampon. The nurses basically gave me this pad the size of pillow to shove between my legs. For once I was happy I had fat thighs to hold that thing in place. The nurses are so non-chalant about it too!

I had a 10 day stall earlier this month and I went food shopping and bought all different kinds of food. The scale started to move again. I also had fallen off the journaling wagon, and I can tell you that as soon as I started journaling, the scale began to move again!!!

On way 2 SKINNEYVILLE Yall!
I am super impressed with you!! I couldn't even look at a computer to type words...I was soo loopy. It will get better every single day!! I had BIG regrets after surgery. I hated not feeling like myself. Now I am almost 11 weeks out and I LOVE my sleeve. I am never hungry and I have confidence that I never had before. I am learning how to eat out and I am not feeling "deprived" anymore. Keep up the great work!

I'm New
YOU can do it. I am down almost 50 pounds and I can't tell you how great I feel. I did this for my husband and my two small children. I want to live a long and healthy life with my family. Nerves are very common. You will get through this and feel great!

The thirty thirty rule- chew chew chew
I don't count my chews, it makes eating such a chore. I just make sure I take small bites and chew thoroughly. I may take a small sip within the 30 minutes before eating but never during or the 30 minutes after eating. I am just 10 weeks out too.

Loss of appetite
I was sleeved a little over 10 weeks ago and in the past 2 weeks, my hunger has gone away. After surgery I felt hungry like before and I wasn't happy about it. I guess since the stomach is healing, the hunger is gone. I literally have to eat just to eat. I love not being hungry all the time like I was before. I don't take any PPI's either. Don't need them.

Any Teachers Out There!??
Hello! I teach 4th grade and I was sleeved January 3rd. I took 4 weeks off. I wanted to be transitioning to solid food when i went back. The first few days were a little tough but then I got into a routine. I bring my breakfast to work and eat it during homeroom in the morning. I have lunch at 12:45 so I know not to drink after 12:15. I am lucky in the sense that my lunch it 44 minutes. I really had to work to slow myself down because I am used to eating so fast because lunch in short. Until you get yourself in a routine, you can start nibbling on your lunch before you head down there... I also stay out of the teacher's lounge. We have "fat fridays" where each grade brings in a breakfast dish so I just stay in my classroom. People at work do know I had surgery and for the most part, have been very supportive. There is one lady who is like the food police but I find she is overall an annoying person anyways

OBESE
My doctor said "congratulations you are now just obese like 20 million other American's" LOL
-
Feeling yucky
I found once I got off those pain meds, my mood improved. I think the surgery definitely throws you for a loop. I was very anxious and depressed the few weeks. I couldn't believe what I did to myself!! Now I am feeling AWESOME!! You will get there....I promise it will get better!!!
-
Am I lucky told I didn't need a PRE-OPT diets
I didn't have to either. I had to do liquids 2 days before surgery.

Return to work
I was 245 5' 4" and I'm a teacher. I took off 4 weeks. There is no way I could have gone back before 3 weeks, I couldn't do the morning routine with my children who are 5 and 8. Everyone heals different, though. I give major KUDOS to people who said they took a week off!!!!!

Unrealistic Expectations
Some lady I work with comments about my weight every time she walks by me. although it's all positive, I don't like it at all. I explained to her that although I appreciate her kind words, I am trying to overcome a food addiction. I then asked her if she would mind only commenting once a month! LOL. She was fine with it and this was hard to say but it HAD to be said! I do feel like Im in a fish bowl, especially when I am eating but everyone kind of figured out I had WLS. I was out for 4 weeks and came back 30 pounds thinner

When did you add COFFEE back to your diet?
My doctor said coffee 4 weeks out. I had it about 5 weeks out but switched to decaf... I figured I don't need the caffeine so why go back???

Cold feet or legitimate feelings?
Just list all the "what if's" with the risks of your current weight... As for the drain, it's a pain in the butt but there for a good reason. Yes, the surgery is invasive! You are throwing your stomach in the trash but the health effects (both physically and mentally) outweigh the risks. You can and will get through it and will feel GREAT!! I was a MESS before surgery. They had to give me medicine to calm me down the morning of surgery. I was hysterical. Now I am almost 11 weeks out, almost 50 pounds down and laugh about it!!!

Protein shakes are making me nauseous
Go on this website www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com The girl who runs the site had gastric bypass many years ago and literally logs and takes pictures of all her food. She also has a facebook page as well. I heard people saying the Max protein she gets from GNC is the best. Good Luck...although it seems like it...it DOESN"t last forever.
