  1. Well, you've lost an amazing 83.5 lbs !!! That is going to make a huge difference!!! Good for you..you are sure to have many more of those NSV moments.....take a moment and let them sink in and be proud of yourself!:high5:
  2. GRLST Guys really like sweaty thighs. Sorry..couldn't help myselp:biggrin1: LIBGS
  3. Good for you!! Did the time go by quickly? I'm only one week banded but can't wait until I'm down 60lbs!!!
  4. your sister is just jealous...i know I'll probably have this problem with my sister as well since we are the two big ones in the family. She'll think i've abandened her some way. But no way am i telling anyone in my family what i've had done. I can't wait till I can clean out my closet and get rid of big clothes!!! I don't want them around because i'm never going back to that place again. I think of all the times I worried about how I looked going out, pulling my shirt down further to cover myself more..those clothes don't make me feel good about myself. I can't wait to build up a closet full of clothes in one size, stuff that will fit year after year. I'm going to keep one pair of pants as a reminder of a place i never want to be again. I got banded for me..so I'm going to live the life I wanted...and unsupportive people can say what they want because I'll be having too much fun living to care what they think!!!
  5. Lila, "If you had to, would you have been able to work 3 days after surgery ?" I can't imagine going to work tomorrow...I'm up and around a bit today, but still needed a good two hour nap. Very hard to get sleep at night when you can hardly move. I had booked 5 days off, and then was worried that wouldn't be enough time, they rest of the week I have to call in on whether I'll be in or not but I don't have to. Luckily, my boss has health issues and is always calling in sick...so he can't really complain. If you are just sitting at your job, you might be okay...bring your pain meds and make sure you have a pillow to press against your stomach incase you need to cough or sneeze. I had a couple cough attacks...no fun. Maybe, you could just call in sick on the monday...one day makes a big difference. And you'll need your rest.:notagree
  6. Hi everyone, I'm back and on the banded side! Today..I'm starting to feel okay..really wasn't prepared for how much gas can hurt ya!! ahhh Can't wait until I can lie on my side again at night though... Had about half an optifast shake..before it grossed it me out and I thought I might be sick....Maybe just too much liquid at once? I don't know.
  7. Thanks Cloe....at 8am they'll be cutting into my virgin belly!:phanvan I'll let you guys know how I make out.
  8. Look at my ticker fish swim...he's almost at the end!!!!:girl_hug: And to think when I first posted it said 2months and three days...
  9. I'm going to Dr.Coburn in Mississauga,ON. Luckily only an hour away from me. Are you in Ontario?
  10. Okay, maybe I'm the only one that doesn't know this, but what's Biotin? I wasn't worried about hair loss before this thread...I thought it was only rare cases..now it sounds like something everyone experiences. No! not my hair..please.. It's one of the only things I like about my looks.
  11. Not to mention, we are paying them..they want our money.:spit:
  12. Thanks everyone..you guys are all so supportive. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't know about this site. :typing: You really are the only other people that truly understand this long road we are on. Just getting over a cold...thought it would be gone by now. What will Dr.Coburn do if I'm still sick on Friday??:help: Any ideas? He wouldnt cancel on me, would he?
  13. I can't believe my date is finally coming. Now my excitement is turning into nerves. :nervous Was thinking of going out and buying a heating pad...anyone find that really helpful? Wow..I've survived ten days of optifast..now if thats not an accomplishment! I'm dying for pizza....hmmm...how many more weeks until I can have a nibble? Keep thinking of all the things I should of had before I had to start the optifast.....like a huge steak, and a chinese buffet one last time.. Oh well...new life from now on, right?
  14. :high5: That's great! I'm going in a Friday. Imagine what we will all look like by Christmas!!!
  15. sorry testing again...should have it this time..
  16. testing ticker..
  17. Argon...you are great! :high5: Thanks so much. Ooops..I had some broth for dinner, but if thats all the cheating I do..I'm doing well. I won't have it again then. I don't think the 60 calories are going to be setting me back. I guess I better have some more veggies then, I've been getting dizzy and thought i was going to faint today. I've tried drinking coffee black...it's really gross. I guess I'll becoming a tea-toddler from now on. Thanks for the tips to spice up the choc. opti.....the only idea I came up with was the instant coffee.
  18. Hi guys, Thanks for the replies..I guess I'll just try not to worry about it for now. Worse comes to worse I beg other people to take my shifts or call in sick. Are we allowed broths in the pre-op diet? I have Dr.Coburn and cant remember what they said besides the three optifast shakes and lettuce. I swear I had it written down...but not anywhere around. Hey ,if any of you are from PEI...wow how beautiful..wish I could of stayed longer, I could get use to a slower pace of living. Off topic...my kids go back to school tomorrow :clap2: then finally some time to my self!! Love my kids to bits, but I got my own motorcycle last month and am dying to go on long rides while the kids are in school. Keep my mind off food.:hungry:
  19. hi everyone, I just got back from my Nova Scotia and PEI vacation. My finally eat whatever I want days are now over. I'm on day three of the pre-op. I got so stupid drunk one night that I don't think it will be a problem now giving up my diet pepsi.....just looking at it makes me sick because of all the rye i drank..the pepsi ended being added just for a little colour....goodbye alcohol!!!! Can't wait for my surgery....but worried I didn't book enough time off work for recovery....I didn't want to tell them what I needed time off for....and I'm just going back after vacation. How long did you guys need for recovering?
  20. Hi in a pickle, Your surgery is a week after mine! Are you going to mississauga or the clinic in Toronto? I'm going to Dr.coburn in Mississauga. That's quite a distance for you...luckily I'm only a hour away. Going in next week to hand in all my paperwork...then the next time is the big day. Hopefully it comes soon. I've gained 6 lbs since my consultation, having goodbye parties to foods I won't have again. I better start behaving. Bought a new scale that is all ready to show only numbers going down from now on. We can do this...it's going to go great. Are you doing the optifast for two weeks pre-op? If so we'll be enduring it together for a week. All the best....glad you joined the boards.
  21. Good to hear from everyone..and knowing there are people out there in the same boat as me. My husband doesn't quite get why I need this...still thinks if I work out everyday I can lose the weight...well it's been 10 years...I'm not wasting any more time. My date was 10 weeks from my consult. so don't get your heart too set on the 4-6 weeek idea. Mind you I had to bump my date back a week so I wouldn't have to bring the Optifast on vacation with me. Don't need to explain that to everyone. I'm going out to buy more white bread...I know it's bad but I have to say goodbye to it soon and will mourn the loss. I'm so inspired by everyones tickers! way to go you guys! :clap2: I can't wait to change mine to weight...instead of my surgery date countdown.
  22. Hi, everyone.. I'm so glad of this group. I have my date with Dr.Coburn on Sept. 15..less than a month to go! I'm so glad everything I've read here about him is good. I totally agree with not telling others ( hubby and some close family of course I'd tell..otherwise who will drive me home after my surgery) but really it is no one elses business, people will try to bring you down and poo-poo on your ideas so that they don't have to realize what they need to change. People get jealous, and will look apond this as some easy way out, quick fit...which we all no it's not and we still have to do the work. Just my two cents. I want people to just notice one day that I've lost weight, not asking me how it's going every week, and having expectations for me. Only two weeks till I start on the opti-fast...did any of you binge your last weeks..before everything changes?
  23. My date is Sept. 15th and I can hardly wait. Hopefully are dates will be here before you know it.
  24. maybe i'm the only one that doesn't get it...trying again
