anyone ever had a "port Flip" or can feel it when you lay on your back
Thanks Grandma 26 that is a great way to look at it. Everytime I get hungry I should rub the large lump on my stomach and that should remind me why I had the surgery and what eating badly will do. THank you all for your replies, i need to stop scaring myself and just work this band

anyone ever had a "port Flip" or can feel it when you lay on your back
I think I Have been reading way too many books, and have scared myself. I have read that the port can actually flip and then it is unable to get a fill or access at all, then you have to have another surgery to correct it. How do you know if this happens? Also today i was watching a movie and laying on my back and looked down and saw a large bump on my stomach, at the port site. I have never seen this before, why is it sticking out so much and it is a huge bump. When I sit down or stand up it is not there. Anyone else have any of these issues? I am scared. I was banded on the 24th of July and first fill is 9/10. THank you.

Can you strech out the top portion of the stomach
I was banded on 7/24 and have been so hungry, no fill until 9/10. Yesterday I was able to eat the filling of two carne asada tacos and rice and beans. I felt very sick afterward all night. i finally fell asleep and felt better this morning and wnd to walk 5 miles. This is the first time I have eaten anything "bad" since before my surgery. I was super scared last night that i streched out the band or the top portion on the stomach. Is it possible to do that eating alot one time? I am scared that i messed something up, i will never do that again. so sick. Anyone help anyone could give would be great. Thanks

10 weeks out,down 50.2 pounds!
wow, i think that is great, I hope i can lose 5 pounds a week. I am only two weeks out have little restricition as band was a little fluid was put into my band when it was put in. No fill until 9/9 as doctor wants my stomach to heal first, he doesnt want me doing anything more than walking, i would like to be working out more, but he wont allow it. Start pureed theis week and mushies next. Well to me it sounds like your doing great, i would be worried if you were losing more than that, i thought it was only 2-3 a week, but i am sure any of us would be greatly happy with 5, just keep doing what your doing, sounds like your on the right track, keep up the good work.

Question???
Hey all, i start pureed foods on Tuesday, should i stop drinking a half hour before i have the pureed food and wait a hour after. I know you do this when you start eating, I am not sure if this rule applys to pureed foods, as it is close to liquid and probally goes right down. I just have the band, nothing in it yet, two weeks out? Also any ideas on what is best to puree would be great. Thank you all.

Any July Bandsters out there?
Hi everyone, having my surgery July 24th and so excited. I have a few questions that i hope anyone can assist me. I thought i had read somewhere on this board, but cant seem to find it anywhere. But there is something that you put on your wrist, a gel or something that helps with nausea, instead of taking pills? Anyone know Also I read a few other post how people state that their skin got bad after the surgery, i hope this does not happen. Does it go away. I wish everyone the best of luck with their surgeries and a happy journey. I have to keep pinching myself, this is happening soon and i cant wait, Excited but so scared.

New to this Site, having surgery 7/24/09
Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Jana and I just found this site, love it. I just got my surgery date, it is July 24, 2009, I am so excited but also very very very scared. I have read many post on here from people stating that that band is not working, they dont feel any restriction, they feel sick, and some even are having regrets that they even did it. I guess for as many bad experience people have had, there are many many great ones. I am so looking forward to this change in my life, What is a normal day after surgery and back to solid foods, what can you eat and how much can you excercise?. Can anyone give me some advice of how to how to live with the band? Is is possible to lose 100 in a year? Thank you everyone for any advice. I am so happy i found this site. Wish everyone the best of luck in this journey.
