Question???

Hey all, i start pureed foods on Tuesday, should i stop drinking a half hour before i have the pureed food and wait a hour after. I know you do this when you start eating, I am not sure if this rule applys to pureed foods, as it is close to liquid and probally goes right down. I just have the band, nothing in it yet, two weeks out? Also any ideas on what is best to puree would be great. Thank you all.

Yes, when you switch to pureed foods you will need to follow the no drinking with meals rules your doc gave you. Even though the foods are mushy, they will stay in your pouch for a period of time unlike the liquids.

When I got to the mushy stage I pureed whatever I made for my husband for dinner: meatloaf, chili, salmon, tuna salad, etc. If you need to you can add some beef broth, chicken broth, etc, to thin it out a bit. I didn't mind the mushy consistency of the foods at all - in fact it was heaven!

Good luck!
