  1. I'm new here and excited about my banding procedure which is in just eight days. I've done all the diets and exercise plans over the years and lost/regained the weight. Diets work but I have never been able to keep my weight off. I'm hoping this will be the discipline I need to stay within my limits to maintain a healthy weight. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas, TrueBlue Plus PPO plan, and it will pay for my procedure because my BMI is over 40 and my doctor recommended as medically necessary. Dr. John Baker is my surgeon (a strict one he is) and I feel good about my experience with him so far. Dr. Baker requires two weeks of Meal Replacement therapy (Protein shakes) prior to surgery, and I just completed the first seven days. I have lost eight pounds in one week, but could never do this to lose all 120 pounds I need to lose! I'm determined to keep the commitment as required for my surgery, though. Any suggestions from those who have "been there, done that" are welcome. If there are things you know of that make the post-op experience better, please let me know. I'm a little nervous about how I will feel immediately after the procedure and for the following few days. But whatever I face, I'm up to the challenge! I'm ready to conquer my lifelong battle! :smile2:
