    Lap-Band and PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS almost 10 years ago. I'm now 26. I had my lapband surgery in July 09 and I'm down 32 lbs. I haven't had a big change in symptoms yet but hopefully that will change. I have had a really tough time with my periods over the years and then after I got married I started testing and now I'm having trouble ovulating. I have been put on Metformin, Provera and other drugs to help. I also was put on Fertility drugs last year and was successful at getting pregnant but I wasn't producing enough progestrone and lost the baby at 2 months. I'm hoping this will help with having children. I wish you all the luck with the PCOS and band.

    Freedom Fighters Weekly Weigh In

I'm new to this thread hope you all don't mind if I join. I had surgery July 7th. Starting weight was 308lbs. I'm now down to 277lbs. So I'm at 31 down. I have had a doctor visit once a month since surgery and had two fills. I have 4cc in band. I need to get back on track with eating more healthy. This year has been extremely tough though. I have lost my Mom to breast Cancer and my husband farms so this time of the year during harvest I feel depressed and think I turn to the wrong things. Not all the time but enough to get frustrated. I usally don't eat a whole lot but know I choose the wrong things. I'm hoping being on here will give me the will power I need to get started on the right track again.

31 year tradition comes to an end

I know exactly what you mean. I went to the Ohio State Fair last Thursday and I bypassed all that too. I only had my surgery on July 7, 09 so I'm a work in progress. I had a pork loin with water. It tasted pretty good and I didn't miss the rest. : )

    Any July Bandsters out there?

I'm a July 7th, Dayton Ohio with Dr. Teel... SO READY FOR IT.
  5. I have suffered for 10 years with PCOS. I understand it's a roller coaster ride that just won't end. I hate the not knowing when great old aunt flow is coming. What a shock when it actually does. I have also have issues with conceiving. My husband and I have been married for 7 years with not being able to carry. I had a miscarriage in July 08. The family is pretty healthy for the most part. My mother just passed away of Breast Cancer and she was the strongest healthiest person I know. I finally believe that it's MY time to take care of ME. For the past few years it's been about everyone else from the family to friends. I'm doing this for me and our future children. I know it gets heartbreaking sometimes and I don't understand why some people get a disease and others do not. GOOD LUCK TO ALL! I'm getting banded July 7th. YIPPY!!
