  1. I'm band to sleeve, 4 weeks out. I went back to work after 2 weeks. I was only planning on one week, but was to exhausted to go back. I was in the hospital 2 days. I only took my pain med twice when I was home then I was off of them. I definitely would do it again
  2. Conniesings: I too am 4 weeks out. Yep, I get nausea on and off but not to the extent at the 2 week mark. I'm a little older too at 50 years old.
  3. I'm a revision from band to sleeve (Aug 8). I'm looking for buddies. I'm SpaniCB
  4. I had my revision band to sleeve on August 8.
  5. For me no, but I'm just now starting food. I've been on protein drinks, yogurt, some cottage cheese. Just remember, every day gets a little bit better and it does
  6. I was drooling too! LOL. I'm 3 weeks out now and tried a little egg salad and a couple of crackers and it stayed down! I will try tuna.

You sound like me! I was sleeved August 8, spent 2 days in the hospital and released on day 3. Hard to get out of bed, hate the smell of food cooking only because I miss chewing! LOL Yep, got my hair colored and cut too. I'm supposed to go back to work this Friday
  8. That's wonderful!
  9. That sounds so good! I'm looking forward to trying watermelon
  10. I got denied first time, approved through appeal
  11. Hang in there. I had days like that especially the first week. I feel a lot better this week. My problem was I had no sugar in me and felt horrible, weak. Doc said go home and drink a glass of fruit juice and you will feel 100% better. I did just that and I did feel better. I was worried too about getting enough liquids in but just keep sipping. I feel about 70% of my old self this week. I'm get worn out easily. I ran a couple of errands today and felt exhausted when I got home. Hang in there. It does get better.
  12. Hi JammyDancer! I had little pain. I think I used the Lortab liquid my doc prescribed maybe twice at night. My nausea was bad in the hospital, but since being at home it comes and goes. I started purees this week and you definitely will know when you are full. I feel stuffed like I just ate Thanksgiving dinner. I thought I was going to take a week off but ended up taking 2 weeks off. This took a lot out of me such as being tired. Just follow your doctor's orders and should be fine. Remember to sip your liquids. Mine hurt in the beginning going down, but I kept with it. My doc told me he wanted me to drink 2 shot glasses of water every hour. The more you sip and walk the faster you heal. He also told me everyday gets a little bit better and he was right. I go back to work this Friday. I have a desk job too.
  13. MyNameIsNatalee: I also had a very hard recovery but not from scar tissue. I am 10 days out and feel so much better. My doctor told me everyday gets a little bit better. Hang in there. You can do it.
  14. I had the exact same thoughts too. You can do it. It is hard in the beginning, but it becomes a lifestyle and you don't think twice about it. Just follow your doctors instructions and you will do fine. My doc said to me a few days after being sleeved "Everyday gets a little better" and he was right. I am revision from band to sleeve patient.
  15. I went for my one week postop visit today. I am acting exactly like a sleeve patient being miserable the first week or so. He wasn't happy at how weak I was and told me to drink fruit juice or yogurt smoothie to get sugar into me. He was surprised I was able to drink a protein drink. He said I looked a lot better compared to the hospital. The reason for not being able to take deep breaths is because he had to cut the muscle a little bit deeper where the port was to get the band out, very little scar tissue and bruised like you know what! He said I could start blended food for a week then try soft foods and see how it goes. I really liked him. I gave him hell and he laughed. Plus another week off of work! Good. I've had a hard time with this. Ask me anything.
  16. I had my first band put in August 2006. Lost 88 pounds and did wonderful until it slipped. I had my second band put in February 2008 and never found the "sweet spot", gained 40+ pounds back. Finally, dragged myself into the doctors office January 2012 and told him I had enough take it out I wanted the sleeve. Sleeved August 8, 2012 I went for my one week postop visit today. I am acting exactly like a sleeve patient being miserable the first week or so. He wasn't happy at how weak I was and told me to drink fruit juice or yogurt smoothie to get sugar into me. 17. I was allowed to drive when I was done taking pain medicine. I am one week out and drove the dog to the groomers yesterday and back home. I was exhausted!
  18. Congrats! I am one week out. So glad to hear about the scar tissue. I had very little scar tissue too. Take care!
  19. That was a great response. I am a week out and I am experiencing things with nausea on and off, being exhausted like Bloomerific. Thanks for posting!
  20. I had mine done the day before surgery. Toes are pink. Nails were Axxium gel. Clear with french tips. No problems.
