    Restriction

Hi everyone, not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but here it goes. I had the Realize band put in on July 7, 2009. I was supposed to have my first fill on August 7th. About 3 weeks post op I got a Staff infection. I still haven't gotten my first fill and have had no restriction at all. Over the last few days I have noticed a tight feeling when I eat and a need to eat slower and chew more. I also feel full a little sooner. My question is, how can this happen if I could eat anything and everything I wanted a week ago and I haven't gotten a fill. I haven't eaten anything and everything I want but I could have. Can the band tighten on it's own or is it part of the healing process. Thanks for any info you can give me.

    First Fill Experiences

I'm scheduled for my first fill "again" on September 1st. I had surgery July 7, 2009 and got a Staff infection. I've been on three rounds of antibiotics. I was suppose to get my first fill on August 7th, but was still infected. I've made the trip to get a fill 3 times total & only ended up on more antibiotics . It's frustrating but I know that with the staff infection waiting is the right thing to do. I seem to be healing much faster on this last round of antibiotics so hopefully the next fill appointment I will actually get a fill. I have no restriction and was doing great for the first month and then it sunk into my brain "hey we have no restriction " and it's been a battle with head hunger ever since. I have had a few moments of "I'm giving up" syndrome but coming on here and reading blogs and post have helped a lot. I know even though I envisioned moving along faster it still will happen. Thanks everyone for sharing your journey, it really helps others to see they are not alone.

  9. :thumbup:Thank you, this was great information. I have my first appointment with the surgeons office on May 26th and they have already told me I will be doing a 2 week liver shrinking diet prior to surgery so this is very helpful.

Pee clear, pee free, pee'rs unite

Hey everyone, not banded yet but getting close. I was thinking about vitamins supplements. I take a B complex supplement and it turns my pee yellowish orange, I think that it means my body is not absorbing all of the supplement and the rest is coming out in my pee. That's ok though cause I do feel better when I take it. I figure I'll get what I need and the rest will go down the toilet. So for some people even if you drink enough water your pee may still have color if your taking certain supplements right?
  13. Same here and I really wanted to read it.

    Anyone from the Coast?

This is the url I used for tricare Beneficiary Portal you have to register and then it will take you to a page that you can check your referral. I got mine this afternoon and it's to Surgical Specialist of La. I talked to them and they had me fax it. I'll be seeing Dr. Redmann. They needed some medical info faxed and then they will call me for an appointment. :cursing:
  15. Hi everyone, my name is Tina I'm 46 years old and from the Mississippi Gulf coast. I found this site while researching the Lap Band. I've had the first visit with my regular doctor who put in a referral for me. Waiting for Tricare to complete the referral and give me a surgeon's name. Praying everything goes well and quick. I'm 5'3" and 272 lbs. with a BMI of 48, high blood pressure, obstructed sleep apnea, and arthritis so I don't think there will be a problem. Would love to hear from some branders with stats close to mine and hear how your doing or how you did it. I'm very excited to have found you all and looking forward to be able to hang with so many courageous and supportive people. :cursing:
