  1. Hubby & I had our initial consult with the surgeon today. Dr. Ceppa said we are both good candidates for the lap band. My BMI is 38 & I have hypertension. He also wants me to have a sleep study. Hubby's BMI is 40. He has hypertension & sleep apnea. Dr. Ceppa warned me that my hubby will lose ALOT faster than me. He said the weight will melt off hubby once his calories are restricted. I on the other hand, will have to work a little harder...Oh Well, story of my life! We meet with the nutritionist on the 21st for our initial appt. Our insurance requires a 6 month diet program. Let the fun begin!
  2. I am one of those people that doesn't see myself as overweight as I really am. Call it denial, call it blindness, call it whatever. Well, I got the shock of my life last night. My DH, DD & were at the LPGA US Women's Open in Bethlehem yesterday & NBC10 news from Philadeliphia interviewed DD & DH. I was in the background of the shots. OMG!!! How did I get this big, is that really me? I thought I looked darn cute in that outfit yesterday. Reality is, I look like the broad side of a barn. How depressing. I can't believe I let myself go like this. :cursing:
