DH & I were both banded on January 27th. I wasn't too keen on having surgery on the same day - but now I am so glad we did. We have a 20 year old DD & a 10 year old DD. Cooking meals, etc was not really a problem. The first few days were rough, but after that we did ok. We needed two people available to transport us home from the hospital, as our surgeries were several hours apart. This was THE BEST thing we ever did for ourselves. We are happy & healthy now. DH has lost 9o lbs & I have lost 60 in 6 1/2 months. Being on this journey together helped with our success. Please check out my blog for more info (address in my signature). Hi Betsy - how many cc's do you have in your band & are you in the green zone? I've had 3 fills & now have 9 cc's in my 11cc band. I am feeling a bit of restriction - but not sure I'm there yet. Thanks, Dawn

Hi Boo! Funny - I was lurking on OH the other day and saw a few of your posts! I wasn't sure you were still on here - look who's rockin' her band - 83 pounds - holy $h*t!!!! I am so happy for you. DH & I were both banded on 1/27 by Dr. Ceppa. We are 4 weeks out today. We are both doing great. The first few days were rough - hubby had gas pains - I never did. I feel better than ever, this is the best thing I ever did for myself. We start normal food on Saturday - yay! But it really hasn't been bad so far. DH lost 36 lbs & I am down 18. We eat the same food/calories per day & he lost double what I did - oh well, that's a man for you =:wink: I have a blog the link is below - if you want to check it out. Take care & talk to you soon! Thank you for posting this & congrats on your loss thus far. I am newly banded, start mushies on Sat. Do you find you can eat most of these recipes with the band?

DH & I were banded 1/27. Today is our 3rd day post op. We are both doing much better. I posted our surgery story on the post op. board. We both have some gas & not much appetite. We are on Full Liquids until Sat. then on to mushies. DH lost 13lbs & I lost 9. We are both looking forward to our new lives. Take care to all of you & PM me if you have questions.

I am getting banded on 1/27. I have tickets to a Shania Twain concert on 1/29 - just two days later. From your experience - will I feel ok enough to go?

10 months from seminar until surgery date. It took an extra 3 months because we switched to DH's insurance in order to get the surgery covered.

Hi All, DH & I are being banded on 1/27/2010. We finally have our date after going through six months of insurance hoops!

My Hubby & I hope to be banded in January. We should have surgery dates shortly. We have been going through the 6 month nutrition counseling & all the pre-op testing. My BMI is 38 with 2 co-morbidities. Hubby's is 43. We are both 45 and have been married for 21 years. It only makes sense that we do this together. We are not going to be banded on the same day - but hopefully within a few weeks of each other. I look forward to staying in touch with all of you!:thumbup:
