  1. So 3 days out from my fill I feel pretty awesome not hungry at all and i am eating solids now still doing soft foods and chewing well everything is going down just fine no stuck episodes or anything like that and yes I am eating very little.
  2. I am not on reglar foods just yet and didnt want to get a fill until i was eating solids. I still felt restriction and wasnt hungry so i figured why mess with a good thing. I am still not hungry with this fill i have now and I have to pace myself when drinking water which i dont like. I will see how this works for me.
  3. Went in today I was reluctant to get a fill but my doc beeing such a smooth talker got me to agree on a small fill, he wanted to give me 3 cc's in my 10cc band but i talked him down to 2.4cc's. I had it done via flouroscopy. Drank a tiny sip of the barium everything was going down just fine. He poked me one time and bullseye got it where it needed to go (No digging around thank god)they stood me up had me swallow some more barium took some pictures and voila that was it. I love my doc...
  4. When you hiccup its a sign that you are full. Pay attention to the signs. I get one single hiccup that seems to come from the pit of my stomach that tells me "You are full" and need to stop eating or drinking.
  5. Wow razorgirl sounds like you guys get into some naughty play. I would perhaps wear a cincher to hold things in place in the mean while. I love corsets/very tight fitting girdles and thought that my port might hurt while wearing them. I am 1month out and i laced up a corset the other night and was pleasantly surprised that it didnt hurt. You might want to give it a little longer so that your port is healed up in place. you dont want to end up with a flipped port or kinked tubing.
  6. Lol Lolly seriously this thing is a little difficult at times. But if you follow the rules it will work just as advertised.
  7. Hate to sound like a total @ss but what exactly did you think the band was going to do for you? It is designed to do exactly what you just said stop you from overeating hence loose weight. It is not a magic bullet it will not make the right food choices for you. You have to work the band in order for it to work for you.
  8. Yes maam like i said sometimes if you drink too fast you will get a hung up feeling in between your brests. If i drink too fast i get a hiccup some people sneeze some burp you will find your full signal.
  9. I can not believe that you guys actually wash the meat after it is cooked. Fat in meat= flavor. I would rather have a fattier cut of meat and have less of it than have more of a protein that tastes like cardboard. Sorry guys I'm just not with the washing of the meats.
  10. Are you sure you have no restriction at all? have you tried drinking Water too fast? You can usually feel a tight feeling in your chest. Some people dont pay attention to the signs. I understand that you are a food addict we all are and its hard to abstain from food. I find that its alot easier to do liquids only but it takes a couple of days to get into it. You do know that you just had major surgery and that you had a device implanted and sutured into your stomach. Advancing your diet can have dire consequences. You dont want to over do it and end up throwing up. I'm sure they explained to you that throwing up is not good this early in the game. If you have any questions send me a message I would be more than glad to help you out.
  11. Just because you can eat it doesnt mean you should. Now you ae very early into your weight loss journey. Know that the doctor has you on a liquid diet because your gut needs to rest while it heals. When you eat solids your gut needs to churn in order to digest the food. This can lead to band slippage problems later on down the road. Your band has been sutured in place and eating early can damage those sutures. Now do as you may but Fritolay isnt going out of buisness anytime soon and there will be plenty of doritos for you to eat when you are allowed to do so. Don't sabotage yourself this early on. Try to have some self control. The hunger pangs subside in a couple of days. Just drink plenty of water and your protein.
  12. its just gas give it a couple of days make sure you walk around it will get those gases moving. Stay on top of your pain meds.
  13. one of the discharge orders was for me to be able to urinate. It was soo hard to do i sat and sat for a couple of minutes until i was able to go. I had the hubby run the water in the sink for stimulation and it worked. Anesthesia works a little differently for some folks makes all your organs sleepy too. Just realx it will be ok give it a day or two.
  14. I had a bmi of 40.1 and was approved with no comorbidities. Depends on the package your doc sents to the insurance company
  15. I have lost 20 post op but the rest i did on my own. Thanks..
  16. weird if i drink too much or too fast i get this huge hiccup just one lol.
  17. you will be naked hun. regardless of it beeing in or outpatient lol. I wore Yoga pants a sports bra and a hoodie i was comfortable for the ride home. no silly questions here.
  18. Ok so I was banded 11-16 I know im a whole month late but here goes my surgery story. I arrived at the hospital at 6am sharp. Surgery was scheduled for 7:30 am. I got checked in got into my hospital gown all the nurses were running around it was a well orchistated dance i tell you. I got weighed in 243 for the record. Before I knew it I had an anesthesiologist who was starting my iv. He was a rather young oriental hottie. Back to the story. Once i had my iv in he asked if i was nervous and if i needed something to relax. I was like "No I'm not nervous but give me some of the good stuff anyway". So he did I was a little woozy. My doctor came in and asked if i was ready I said "yes and dont forget my low profile port o.k." He was like i wont and then the surgical man nurse who was very sexy by the way started to wheel me towards the OR. During that time the anestesiologist topped me off and I was out, didnt even get to see the inside of the operating room.I woke up in recovery asked what time is it. it was 11am. I was like DAM that was some good sleep. I asked the nurse to get my hubby he came in and i got to see him for a little bit before they informed me that I was beeing admitted and they were waiting for a room for me on the 8th floor. I freaked out and was like "EXCUSE ME". I'm here as an out patient and i want to go home. They called my doc and he came in to see me. He changed the orders as soon as he saw that i was walking aound by 11:30. I was wheeled over to recovery, I asked the nurse what do i need to do in order to go home. She said you need to go pee and sip on this water without beeing nauseaus. Long story short I was home by 3pm. I'm alergic to codein so couldnt take the liquid lortab so had to crush my percocet yum. It was the nastiest thing i have ever tasted. I asked the hubby to get me some liquid tylenol he did but that just didnt take the pain away. I improvised I crushed the percocet and put them in a tiny bit of the liquid tylenol it worked.I slept for the first 3 days post op. Those meds make me sleepy. Like I said I am a whole month post op and down 20lbs best decision I have made. No buyers remorse here folks.
  19. clear liquids and protein shakes for 3 weeks pureed food for week 4 chopped food for week 5 regular foods starting week 6
  20. smoking is a containdication for surgery it hinders the oxigination of your blood and makes healing much more dificult. You should quit smoking for more than a couple of weeks while you are healing.
  21. I think that going several weeks on a liquid diet would make anyone grouchy. I wasnt all emo or anything just really tired and short fused lol!! It has gotten better. As the time goes by
  22. DITTO!!! worth every penny IMHO
  23. My hubby likes them thick. When we met many years ago I was 190ish lbs and after marriage and 3 kids i was 315 at my heaviest. Now this man must be a saint he has never commented on my weight. I dieted and got myself down to 267 and decided i needed help and looked into wls. I was banded a month ago starting weight was 243 and im down to 225. I must tell you he wasnt trilled when i told him i was contemplating wls.It took him a while to come around. So the other day, He told me he was watching the show Cheaters and that he saw a guy who cheated on his wife because she had lost too much weight. I was like really so does that mean that you are going to cheat if i get too thin. He started laughing and said well if you get too skiny i just might have too. He was joking of course but you never know lol!!
  24. i took 2 weeks off I had vacation time and state dissability and aflac only pay after the first week. So by the time i was back to work i had 3 checks in the mail not too bad if y ou ask me. Oh yeah i could have gone back after the first week but I'm glad i didnt.
  25. i dont see why not some nuts say no artificial sweetners but its your personal choice. as far as pureed food you can steam any vegies and smash them with a fork thin them out with a little water milk or stock if you need too. Beans are a good source of fiber and protein. Cottage cheese, yougurt, kiefer, pudding, jello, I'm sure there are a ton more just these are the ones that come to mind.
