I JUST LOVE MY BAND TOO!!! I just love it when people say nice things to me. It really helps to make my day. I am going to speak to a group of new or LB interested group tomorrow night I am so nervous about this. I am so proud of my journey and how I have helped myself to better health with this LB. It is a way of life for me now. I never step on a scale unless I am at the Dr.s Office. I am trying to have this journey not be about the numbers, but about my health. When people ask Oh how much have you lost I have to say when I lasted weighed myself it was 97 pounds and I am still in shock every time I say this!!!! Jump for joy Best wishes imaluckydog

    my surgery

Hi I had the LB on June 29,2009. Follow your Dr.'s rules time will pass and getting thru these very hard first weeks will be easier on you in the long run. Your insides are healing please take the time your body needs to heal. You will be able to eat most all your favorite foods in due time, in small amounts. Try to refocus on why you had this done in the first place. Health maybe #1 reason. Let me just say I have only been at this for 9 short months but I have already lost 97 pounds. I am a new person. It is painful to watch others eat when you can't have those foods. It is hard. Many of us on this site have had these same experiences. We hear you and want you to know YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Best wishes, imaluckydog

    day after surgery

Yes, this is the roughest part of your journey. It all gets better. Take time to heal and go slow I mean SLOW with everything, moving, turning, eating...... The first couple of days seem like forever. I look back and say OMG 9 months have gone by and it was so long ago. I needed two weeks to pamper myself and just get back into the swing of things. It is a major surgery whether you like it or not. Your body will react and all will be fine in a few days. Keep up with pain meds and walk around the house as much as you can. It really does help. Baby sips. Best wishes imaluckydog Oh ya I'm down 97 pounds and I am a new person in an old body!!!

2 Things: In a Slump and a Milestone

Oh you will make it, I am sure of that. I also had to have a little taken out. Just last week and I have been banded since June 29, 2009. I had my last fill in October so I have had the same fill and all of a sudden I could not keep anything down! I started to get a little coughing at night and some acid reflux. It was only about two days. But when I called the Dr.'s office they said get in here we need to look at your band. They did an upper GI everything was fine but band just got tighter by itself and no one has an answer to why. I felt immediately better and try to get all my food in at dinner time earlier in the evenings now. I was worried about an un-fill but I am better off and losing again. Best wishes imaluckydog

"It's been such a long time"

Hey, band buddy, Glad you are back. I missed my band Buddy so much. HOW ARE YOU???? I am so happy to read your blog today. I just got back from bring my daughter back to school in Vermont her spring break is over. It rained the entire drive.... I met a goal of mine and I went skiing this past winter and had a blast with my family. My weight is still coming off. That is a good thing. I am not at goal and the nutritionist would not set one for me yet she says I am still too far away. I have lost 97 pounds. I also had to have a un-fill last week. BG has her own NEW BLOG page I am sure she will tell you about. It is GREAT!!! You do have a lot to catch up on. Thank goodness we can go back and read all we want on this site. It always helped me keep my paws out of the cookie jar..... I have been making all my own foods. I do eat out but when I do I try so hard to make better choices. I have lost 97 pounds and they have asked me to speak at a newbies info session. I am a little nervous as I have made many mistakes but the nurse likes how positive I am and says I will be a good person to talk too. We should have a party for your granny. Bless her you do have your hand full. Keep blogging it helps to pass the time. Thinking of you. imaluckydog

    Week 44.....New Life

So proud of you and happy that your band is feeling better. I also had to have an unfill this past wednesday. I still feel tight though...... Not sure if I want another un fill???? Best wishes and Happy Belated Birthday GF. imaluckydog
  20. Hi I wanted to say Hi and let you know you are NOT ALONE!!!

Ok, I also had an un-fill on this past Wednesday this week. I feel so much better almost instantly. No biggy just get a little removed and feel better.... Had an Upper GI all is well band has not shifted, no leaks.

    Standard measurements are:

    1 Cup = 8 ounces

    1/2-Cup = 4 ounces

    1 Tablespoon = 1 ounce

I have never heard of anyone eating a "1 ounce cup" before?

Do you think they may be referring to only putting 1 ounce which is 1 Tablespoon of food in your mouth at one time?

As I recall from my experience I needed to learn how to stop eating Too fast and slow down. I used to put food into a small hospital measuring cup for medicine to see how much I was eating. Is that the one ounce cup you are talking about?

I could not live on one ounce I eat about 1 cup = 8 ounces of food start with protein at any one time. I have lost 97 pounds in 8 months. This band works if you work with your band. Best wishes imaluckydog

OMG! I'm like a new woman...that might be a problem.

Ok, I also had an un-fill on this past Wednesday this week. I feel so much better almost instantly. Mine band got tighter after 5 months and no one can explain why? No biggy just get a little removed and feel better.... Had an Upper GI all is well band has not shifted, no leaks. Standard measurements are: 1 Cup = 8 ounces 1/2-Cup = 4 ounces 1 Tablespoon = 1 ounce I have never heard of anyone eating a "1 ounce cup" before? Unfill - Feel Physically Much Better But Concerned

I got and un-fill today too. I feel better already. I have to do liquids for a day. I can handle it. My third fill that was back in October made me as full as I ever wanted to be. Being that full for so long made my esophagus work over time and I started to have acid reflux at night while I was sleeping NOT GOOD! Got the full treatment today. Gastro drink, X rays, Un-fill and Nutritionist talk and Blood work Long day what more could I ask for. I am sure the un-fill will be just what I needed. I have learned so much in these past 9 months playing well with my band is the best life I could ask for. I will continue to make healthy choices and measure food intake that has become part of my lifestyle with the band. Down 97 pounds in 9 months. Best wishes imaluckydog

An open letter to someone I love very much, but who hurts me very much....

Put the Drink down!! Don't even go back to the smoke..... You sound like you are on the edge. The right side of the edge. The positive edge. Getting your thoughts and feelings out in a blog will help. Blog more, be as honest as you are and let those tears flow. Tears are cleansing. Tears help. You are a caring and special person who has done everything for everyone else and NOW is time for you to do this for YOURSELF. I am proud of the way you are working to regain self control and self LOVE. You have the desire to create your own destiny. All the power to you. Best wishes imaluckydog

    pain?

Explain that mommies tummy is tender now and that may help them to understand you will be sore there. But not for long. I had 2 C sections and LB is not that bad. You will be sore but it will pass. You will not be able to pick the kiddies up!!! Bending over may be a challenge as well. I was 100% in two weeks. You will need time to heal, take that time. Best wishes imaluckydog
