    Port Discomfort

I'm 38 weeks 3 days and have had 2 weeks of muscle spasm caused by the port tearing from the muscle wall. Bub seems totally unaware - no foetal distress etc - except that now the port is sitting sideways he seems to think its a kicking toy!! Has anyone else out there experienced this and if so did it cause any problems during delivery??
  3. I have just less than 6 weeks left before my due date. Once the baby is born my band doc won't fill until he sees a barrium swallow - just to make sure everything has moved back to where it should be. Once I've done this we assess as we go. My 'sweet spot' is 3.5-4.5ml. I had a total unfill at 16 weeks so he has suggested that assuming everything is sitting where it should be I could have 2ml just to get a little restriction but not so much it impacts on milk production. He said everyone is different so we'll take it as it comes.

16 Weeks Preg, Possible Band Slip

Hey Christina, I've not had to have surgery yet. My doc took all the fluid out which gave relief after about a week. He's not prepared to do anything including x-rays until we have no other choice. Hopefully will get through the next 11 weeks (am 29 weeks now) without things changing and we'll re-assess once bub is out. I'm not too worried if I do have to have surgery before then. My ObGyn and Lap Band doctors said there were several safe surgery options if needed. Wendy.
  5. I'm jealous - we went for our 20 week scan 2 weeks ago and bub curled up into a ball. Have to go back in 4 weeks for another scan as nothing they did could get it to move into a better position. The only things they could see were kidney's spine and skull. Showed bub is actually big for our timing but I will be happier once we know all other organs etc look OK. Hope everyone and their bubs out there are doing well.
  6. Hi Everyone, Congrats to all those babies being born. I'm 18 weeks 6 days with my second however first pregnancy with my band. Things going OK. Have had all fluid out as have possible minor slip but my doc is extremely confident we can make it to the end without surgery. I an Aussie so my weight measurements are in KG's sorry!! but have lost 7kg since falling pregnant - I think thats about 15 pounds although since having the fluid out I've gained 1.5kg (3-4 pounds). All good, still a lot less than my first pregnancy. I look foward to hearing everyones experiences.
  7. Hi Emjay, I don't have this problem myself however my sister is Banded and she has exactly this. Travelling for anything more than about 2-3 hours and she has about 48hrs of tightness. Unfortunately she has not found anything that helps - sorry. She's been banded for 2 years and tried lots of things but has just come to the conclusion that travelling is like a fill - take it easy for 48hrs after.
  8. Hi, I've been reading from this forum for a while but this is my first post. I'm 16 weeks pregnant and started having pain at the base of my oesophagus a couple of days ago. Saw my Doc today and she has taken all the fluid out of my band. She let me know that my symptoms are classic of 'pre-slip'. Has anyone else out there had slippage during early pregnancy and had to have surgery to fix??? Worried Mum to be.
