Did you tell everyone or no?

My Fiance too, and now his best friend calls the house to see how my delicious bowl of steam tastes. My issue with that is that he's a gorgous guys (sometimes I think out of my league) and I know his fellow Peers (he's a musician) think "oh my god what happend to sarah" (b/c 3 years ago I got down to a size 6, and gained it back & then some) So a lot of these people haven't seen me in like a year or 2. I told him straight up I do not want so & so knowing and he's like oh, too late they called to see how your feeling. He says he's proud of me b/c of it, but I don't like the people he associates with so I feel it's non of their business.

    Drinking before and After meals.

I've been doing what John's been doing, 5 to 10 mins before I eat I take a heaping gulp of beverage, and then 25-30 mins later I will take a normal drink... I usually get up and walk around a bit after I eat just to ensure things don't sit there and to distract myself and pass time. I also look at the clock to see what time I stopped eating this way by the time I'm done being the energizer bunny, It's time to take a drink.
  3. Besides being a miserable bitch to everyone in my path lol, I'm doing o.k. Incorportating Soft/solids now. I've been basically living off of shrimp for the past few days, I've always hated it, but for some reason I've been craving it, but I have to be Very careful about it though esp. if it's minced, because I'm severely allergic to cod fish and sometimes it's used as a filler. Other then that I'm o.k. working for the next 12 days straight. So not looking forward to that. But hanging in there.

You will be fine, everything will go smoothly, and your Baby will be there when you wake up!!!! don't get nervous on me now girl!

    Weight Watchers and the band

I got that too from my sister of all people. She considers herself the weight watchers queen, and when I first told my family I was going for the surgery it pissed her off. She went on a 15min Tyraid on How Lazy I am, I need to learn self control and to get off my ass and excercise. My defense was and still is and it's medically proven, because I have such severe arthritis in my hip, I am limited to what I can do physically. The band to me, is a Jumpstart to getting my mobility back. I'm 27 years old and I walk like a 60year old M.O woman. I limp and I waddle at the same time. The limp, I've come to accept, The waddle was the final straw for me. Before my surgery I was basically a few weeks away from walking with a cane. I never succeeded on Weight watchers. 5-10lbs here and there but nothing significant. F'em. because chances are in a year or so at least 15 of those people will be sitting in a surgeons office discussing their options b/c WW didn't work for them.

Losing weight, still hate my body.

My pregnancy with my son F*CKED my stomach up. I have basically 2 stomachs now. Basically at my belly button there is a "bottom portion" of my stomach which just hangs there, the top is a normal "fat girls stomach" I've lost weight before being banded and the bottom half doesn't go anywhere. So My big issue even when I go down a pants size, I really don't because of this sack that just sits there. My problem as well (when weight is gone), is that I have a Tiny waist, and a HUGE ASS. I carry most of my weight in my ass & Thighs, and to top it all off I'm only 4'11. I hear you. The only way I will look human, is with a tummy tuck when I reach my goal. I have no choice in that if I want to look human. I used to work in a gym and consulted with one of the trainers on how to get rid of that lower "pooch" and she said at this point it's just sagging skin, I can strengthen the muscles, but will still need something cosmetic to get rid of it.
  6. I'd kill for a salad right now. i was liquid 2 weeks pre-op and I hated every single minute of it. I've been slacking on the protein shakes but have been eating a lot of fish the past few nights. Deli turkey did not go over well with me at all.

Bandsters with ink, talk to me!

after the above mentioned tummy tuck, i'm getting a full on below the belly button peice to stretch from hip to hip. and it will be awespme!
  8. oh I'm so sorry! transitioning from mush to softs, I'm alright though.. can't complain. you doing liquids yet or working your way down?

    Twenties NSVs

Ordered a T-shirt from One of my fav bands, Usually when you order a "large" it's like a 14 year old girl large. I figured o.k it's gonna be small I'll be lucky to get my left arm in it, but it's something to look forward to. It comes yesterday, I take it out of the box, examine it and then attempt to put it on..... IT FIT. and it fits perfectly, I am not bulging out all over the place and the image on the front doesn't look like it's gasping for air. it fit comfortably. That is a real NSV.
  10. Absolutly NO problem. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

  11. Hey! You and i are on the same page, Music Tattoos and all the rest. How are you doing?

  12. I get my fill on the 26th. I've been so cranky lol... everyones suffering! but other then that, had some pasta last night, chewed until my jaw was aching, but it was delicious, I literally counted every peice, 32 penne's filled me.

  13. Hey lady whats new? 3 days until the first day of the rest of your life!!! I'm so happy for you! TTYS.

  14. Dr. Gorecki @ methodist takes medicaid, But you have to see him in the clinic. Even if you go for a consultation he'll be able to tell you whether or not it's smart to do the surgery on you. he has a website, Dr Piotr Gorecki - expert in laparoscopic surgery in Brooklyn Center for Advanced Laparoscopy | Welcome to The Brooklyn Center for Advanced Laparoscopy And Minimally Invasive Surgical Weight Reduction Program and his staff are amazing. But one of the plus sides to having the surgery is that your high blood pressure will go down, b/c you immediatly go on a low/no fat diet and you must start excercising.

  15. Ahh yes, the Diamond Center!!!!! gosh, I miss it soo much up there to the point i signed up for the ADN daily briefing so I know whats going on. We were actually looking at plane tickets yesterday, we wanna go up there for the fur-rondy in feb, but either way, you and I must stay in touch, b/c we're bandsters, and I got your back girl! it's funny, That Now I know which doc to call in case I have a band emergency when I'm up there.

  16. Hey Akilah, I have the family health plus w/medicaid, it took about a week. But I was under observation for 6 months prior and I have 2 co-morbidities- Sleep Apnea and Severe Hip Arthritis as well as (discovered last minute) Not so healthy cholesterol levels for someone my age, esp. w/ heart disease in my family. My doc sent in 26 pages of notes, and in about 10 days I got my answer. Who is your doc? Also, My surgery was re-scheduled from May 7th to May 21st, b/c of my PCP. I've been banded for 2 weeks already....Anything else just ask, I'm here

  17. Hey, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I'm in Marine park, and it seems the NY page is DEAD. I've found a few people from Brooklyn, but no one seems to want to respond. SO How are you?

Bandsters with ink, talk to me!

I have a tattoo that once upon a time was on my hip-bone (I was 16 and skinny when I got it) Gaining weight and pregnancy has now relocated it to somewhere down by my crotch. If and when I get a Tummy Tuck, it will be gone (which is o.k cuz it was done wrong anyway) They say the Chest and hip/belly pieces are the worst with weight fluxuation. Thank god Mine are nowhere near those areas (except above mentioned "hip" tattoo).

Not for the squeamish or shy...

My gyno said it's from trauma to your insides, and the release of the estrogen (thanks johnsonsnickers you were right!) with the fat burning. and dramatic weight loss in such a short period of time. It's actually quite common after any surgery to get a period, but if it happens again for a couple of months (getting it twice in one month) call your doc immediatly. the same goes for being a hormonal nightmare. SO LADIES!!!!!! Explain it to your DH, You can't control it! I've been fighting with mine for no reason for the past 3 days and he's just about had it. So try to keep your attitudes in check, It's difficult I know lol.. but, ya have to.
  20. Yeah it's been raining here in NYC for the past 3 weeks, and surprise the days it's gorgeous are the days I'm stuck inside at work (like today!) My Mood-swings have been VICIOUS. Apparently estrogen is stored in your fat and as the fat disolves the estrogen is released making us hormonal nightmares, Myself at the very top of that list. Just snapping for no reason, and today especially I'm cranky as hell!.

Yeah eggs have been tough on me too, they're delicious but they've been getting stuck. I had pasta & shrimp last night, got full really fast. By the time I was done eating my jaw hurt from chewing so much. just taking it easy today had some really runny yogurt so far, kind of nausious still from last night, and like I said before, I'm just grumpy. and completely not amused that I won't have a day off for the next 12 days. But other then that I'm alright lol no complaints.

  21. wow. I attemped a little tiny thumb sized piece of bread and it got stuck and I PB'd. I guess everyone is different. It's not so much no carbs for a year to say it's dramatic limitations, because most carbs come in the form of pasta, bread etc. and they are very hard to digest and you have a bigger chance of it getting stuck and throwing it up. I attempted rice with ricotta cheese the other night and spent about 20mins throwing it all up. I was sick as a dog.

Other then that, I've been good, very strict with myself about what I'm eating. I'm on basically mush/softs .. wounds are healing nicely, having port trouble when wearing a bra but thats about it.

  22. Hey Lady, how are you doing? haven't spoken to you in a while.

Did you tell everyone or no?

I have 2 people in my office that want to try my "Crazy diet"... it's lame, but I have to keep it up. I had to tell the bosses it was a simple surgery because I've only been at my job for 2 1/2 months and already needed time off.

    Moods & attitudes

Thanks guys!!! I was actually thinking of this before when a Severe case of road rage almost set in. Oh, and went to the "girl doc" yesterday, she said that getting your period 2 times in a month (I got it again 2 days after I was banded) is because of A) The rapid weight loss due to my diet, and from everything being rearranged on your insides.
  25. sarahbellzz14-4

    Port location

I do it too, and it looks like I'm pushing my boobs up for glamour. Mine unfortunatly is below the bra line, and it Hurts like a MOFO when my underwire rubs against it.
