Hey All, Tina so sorry you were sick but nice to hear from you so much while you're home  Problems with the band: NOT ENOUGH FLUID! Seriously, in the beginning it's hard because there is barely any fluid in it and it's like it's not even there but once you heal from surgery and start to get your fills it will be so perfect. Just look at Jane! She is where we will all be one day!!!!!!! I messed up so bad yesterday! My cousin is here from New Mexico and she's staying at our Nona's house. Nona passed away last January so in her honor, my cousin, Denise, decided to make her macaroni & gravy - why I ask you since I specifically told her that I CAN'T EAT CARBS. So, that what i ate for dinner last night along with rosemary & olive oil bread - and I was able to eat a whole bowl of it... Then, traditionally, it's a shot of whiskey chased with a sees chocolate. Well, I don't drink so I skipped the shot but can somebody then explain to me why I needed the chocolate chaser??? Hmmmm? Not a good night.

for my experts... How long after surgery was it till you got a fill? I "may" get one at my 12 week (3 friggin months) appt. Which, I might add that The Doc hasn't scheduled yet.... He told me on 10/21 when I say him that he was going to have my 12 week appt scheduled for me... Grrrr! Love him but he seems to be a bit forgetful. Who has Sarah's number handy?

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Ash, I dont think so... Check to see which surgeons do that one cuz I know some of these ladies did their orientation in Vacaville but it is still the Richmond Surgeons and their surgeries will still be done in Richmond. You can call Richmond - somebody please give her the number - and see if they can get you in there - just tell them that you were sent to Fremont and that is really inconvenient for you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICOLE! ok, so I really need a big fat fill cuz this little 2.5/3.0 I got im my band ain't doing crud for me! I'M HUNGRY  It seems like I got off my diet after surgery and now I can't get back on it... Grrrr! So, Monique - I'm with you.... LETS DO THE DAMN THANG!

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Ooh, Ash.... I just ate! It's ok to go above it!! I don't have any problems staying fat LOL. Have you tried to call your PCP's office and speak to one of the gals at the desk? I would just pop in there today if you don't hear back from her and have a chit chat with them.
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Hey Ash - Nice to see ya here! so the co-pay for the surgery is the same as your doctor visits! I had the same BMI issues - not to worry though, once you get the referral from your PCP you are in. I was worried that I would be kicked out after I lost my pre op weight but was told that once you're in, you're in! I say get a new PCP - mine responds within the hour - always!! Good luck to you and look forward to chatting with ya

Rub it in why don't cha, Donna! I have an issue with Carbs.. Since the 1200 cal diet is mostly carbs I gained weight following it - I'm just saying to watch the scale after 3 days - dont wait two weeks like I did! If you haven't lost anything in 3 days cut out the carbs! Don't be worried - be stoked! This is it! The last time you will ever have to lose weight!!!!!!!!!!
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
go Liz, it's your birthday - I so remember being right where you're at - about 5.5 months ago - wooooooo hooooooo After lunch tomorrow you guys can grocery shop for your 1200 calorie diet food! Watch the scale ladies to be sure you don't wind up 4lbs bigger in two weeks like I did - I was so bummed!

It's up to all of you as to where we meet on the 14th - some of us are going to roll up to the Santa Rosa support group first then meet around 1:00 in either Vallejo or Petaluma - You guys make the call! I think Vallejo works best for Donna, Heather & Nicole - I believe Nicollie, Liz & Maria are rolling to Santa Rosa with me & Jewel. Maybe Monique & Tamra can roll together since you are both from the same area - hook up you two!!!!! I BELIEVE IN THE BUDDY SYSTEM

Good job Monique - I am having a difficult time getting back on track - I had a coffee & egg salad for Bfast - for lunch I had 1/2 avacado & 1/2c chicken salad - ooh but I want to eat still! Drinking my water right now and debating on who I need to hold at gunpoint for a fill. I was poking around on this site and found that so many people get their first fill 3 weeks after surgery - why do we gotta wait 3 months???????????????????
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Congrats Maria - looks like this is YOUR year! Tamra - we are all here with you. You can do this!! 20lbs ain't nothin! Finances suck! You need to go to welfare and apply for food stamps or General Assistance TODAY!
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Wow, Riley - you are like me... I can gain 20lbs over night with no problems! Liz & Nicollie - tomorrow is the last day of this life as you know it - woo hoo! Have a good breakfast before you go, a great lunch after orientation and your favorite dinner & desserts cuz Wednesday morning is the first day of the rest of your new life -

PRE OPS - DO NOT WORRY! Seriously, worrying is such a waste of time - I know it's easier said... but truly, It all goes so fast and it's so easy you can sleep right thru it. hahahaha. I was nervous and excited and almost chickened out and went thru a slew of emotions before surgery but then I woke up surgery morning more excited than worried and thought about all that went before me and how great they were doing and couldn't wait to be on of them. At the hospital, waiting for surgery - the only thing I could think about was my previous failures and just knew that I had already failed - that I'd waik up after surgery with no band because I didn't lose enought weight, that my liver would be too fat - blah, blah, blah - Then i woke up in no pain and thought to myself .... I knew it! No band! but they said all was well and I was relieved - See, all that stress & worry for nothing! Reovery was/is so easy... You'll see!!! then you'll be like me and think to yourself that you did all that overthinking for nothing~! Trust me!! Ok, so still waiting for all the Sac/EG peeps to weigh in about weather or not you want to stick with Vallejo or roll to Petaluma... Please speak up!

Hahaha Monique - too true! It's like the ol' saying: Today is the first day of the rest of your life... but don't tripp - so is tomorrow!!!!! Right Reggie!! Some of us are in Hell with you girl.

Anybody else have a Dell mini computer? So, because they are cheep as hell I got one of the little red ones - side note: not a good call for the blind such as myself! - anyway - dell installs their one wireless utility and wouldn't you know it.... It clashes with windows xp wireless connection - so, you ask, why do they install both on the same computer - GOOD FLIPPIN QUESTION I have to wonder if it's one of those conspiracy things - you know so that you have to go to them and pay them money to fix your computer so that you can get on line to chat with your band buddies.... Hmmm? i got a trick for all their asses - i disabled the Dell Wireless Utility card! SO THERE, DELL - TAKE THAT! I just got so tired of having to reconfigure my computer every time I turned it on. Venting session over

Nice Ticker Nicollie! 1 day and a wake up till your new life begins! Heather, that was a good thought but for me, the problem is, there is no candy that I don't love. I SNACKED TONIGHT BIG TIME - I completed my puzzle last night so I had nothing to do tonight but snack - peanut butter filled prezzles! Grrr - oh, and did I mention a rather large bite of my husbands pastry! I seem to be able to pull this off for two or three days then I mess up. so - back on track tomorrow morning and as soon as my check comes it's time for brain washing CD's - you know the ones from that hypnotist guy I was talking about - I'll be sure to make copies for everybody LOL Riley - I need your mo-jo!!!!! Monique - I too give in to the tempting foods that belong to the people around me!
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
That's how you do it Monique! for Life!! forget the negative people because you aren't doing this for them - but you are braver than I because I have told nobody but my husband and you all. My brother lives with me and I haven't told him! Just said I had a hernia (well it's true!) It's hard to stay focused right now but in a few months when you have your fills and you can't eat as much it will be fine! That's how I'm looking at it - there is a "sweet spot" at the end of the road and we will get there soon enough - in the mean time - we have to try to pick out battles with food - my husband got me the "eat this, not that" books and you'd be amazed at what the better food choices are! I'm gonna email The Doc and see if I can go back to my sustained release wellbutrin - initially, he said it was fine to use those even after the band but I want to double check - The regular ones aren't doing crap for my headaches - I've had one every day this week! When I get then, I take my maxalt which helps but makes me sleepy and you know how it is when you're tired, you want to eat to stay awake but I can't keep doing that! Grrrr! Ok, gotta get dinner started for my other half

Hey all - I did it, not 1 piece of candy - it helps when you ignore the holiday all together! Heater you look great in your costume! Riley - I think I told you already but I loved yours with your little litter box. Monique - i'm scared of you girl - make sure you chew very well since you are eating real food so early!! I have zero motivation and I just don't know what the heck is up with me but I WILL PREVAIL! Pammie - My sister in law and the two kids moved out but my brother ain't goin nowhere - I know this now~! I'm gonna get rid of the big ass bed in the spare room eventually and make that "my" room for exercising & things - Truth be told, I just really HATE to exercise and I dont know what that is all about. I don't get an energy boost or feel better afterwords like they say you're suppose to. I just always feel tired when Im done and need to nap. I'm telling you all I need hypnotism to change my mindset! Oh, I did just order the 8 minute abs, arms, buns & thighs video - I figure I have to be able to do 32 minutes of workouts a day!! Going to focus more on toning than cardio cuz I hate cardio so much LOL. My endo doctor told me that cardio doesn't make you lose the weight you already have but it can help you keep weight off so that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it! Ok, so we initially agreed to meet in Vallejo for the peeps that are coming from Sac so you sac ladies need to speak up! Looks like we're rolling out to the Santa Rosa group but then after we can either to Petaluma or Vallejo.... so Sac/EG peeps do you want to stop at vallejo or roll to petaluma? Jes, we can roll together to Santa Rosa! Everybody got that - Santa Rosa group starts at 10 so whoever wants to meet there come on.... Then after we will go to either Petaluma or Vallejo depending on you Sac/EG commuters - let us know! I am so horrible at planning things like this LOL. Somebody should really take over! John Boy - stick to your guns! back to basics with the 1200 cal diet. I know - EASIER SAID THEN DONE! but you have come way way way too far to stop now! Pat - i promise not to scare your husband!
-
Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Hey All Bea - sorry bout your little mis-hap but yeah, you are barely eating any calories so you'll feel week if you try to do too much. Maria - are you allergic to any type of llundry detergents? the moomoo is black and it will go just below your knees so you'll be adorable! Jes - i think Doc Fisher and Dr. Park must be an item. What's with them and their "so's'.? hahaha. There is no way possible I could do 1/4c and survive - I'm a 1/2 to 3/4c minimum type a gal so good luck with that. Liz & Nicollie - this journey is a piece of cake, really! so don't be nervous. As far as the 1200 cal diet goes - get with Heather cuz she's the 1200 cal queen! I have to do low carb so I won't be any help to ya. Riley - you are adorable! Love the cat suit and the litter box - hope it's new LOL. I'm gonna need the address & time for the Santa Rosa group meeting who's rolling with me to Santa Rosa?? We can all meet at 1:00 in the parking lot of The Dead Fish - will that work? Lets finalize these plans ladies. Oh, and Liz - you're already in the program - you won't get denied! Hope you ladies can sing - for Maria's sake LOL. Hey John, You haven't RSVP'd for the 14th - Think you and/or your wife will make it? Monique - YES - my tummy is LOUD on occasion - I spoke to the Doc about it and he said it' just air passing thru your bowels. He said my stomech doesn't growl so I can't use it as an "I'm hungry, I need to eat" excuse LOL. Think about it, we usually eat so much that we never have just air in there so now we do and it's noticeable. Ok, peeps - yesterday was my first day of NO SNACKS - I bought a 1000 piece puzzle and I worked on that all night last night- time really flies when your mind is occupied - I climbed in bed at 10:00 with a cup of decaf coffee cuz I was cold and was asleep by 11. I can't hit my treadmill on the weekends and that is starting to bug me. My brother is home and his room is right above the garage so If I get on my treadmill it wakes him up. If I don't do it when I first get up then I won't do it at all. That is the only time I have enough energy - Did I mention that I still have zero energy but I don't think it has anything to do with this band/diet cuz even when I was snacking all day like I did all last week I felt the same way - I think it's a combo of allergies, asthma & the weather. Reggie - the 14th?? Oh, it's gettin late - I think I'll go walk the dogs It's ugly outside HAPPY SCARRY DAY

I'm struggling too - I just had some of my husbands pop tart - grrrrrrrrrrr. I don't know what the deal is but just in case I'm ging first thing in the morning for my depo shot! Maybe it's the weather but I'm freezing and just want something cozy to eat. I'M SO NOT HUNGRY so I can't understand what the problem is with my mouth - my mouth wants to eat but my tummy is not with it so it's a little battle going on over here - asked my port for help but he's napping

Ok, well I'mma hit the road - will log back on this evening if my husband doesn't demand all my time again. Oh, and I didn't get to Hula last night. My husband usually spends Wednesdays with his son but his lovely baby mamma switched the days AGAIN so he was home last night and I stayed with him. I swear she just likes to ruin my plans!
