being able to buy clothes from the "normal" section of the store. Buying something in "One Size Fits ALL" and having it really fit me. Walking into a room and NOT scanning for someone fatter than me. (as if it'll help me feel better)

well.. I finally finished the AETNA 3 month pre-jummping-through-hoops thing, and all my info has been submitted. Now I wait.... ugh.

I SO feel your pain!

I'm finishing up month number 1 of my 3 month pre-approval insurance red-tape dance with Aetna. What are they looking for as far as weight loss? I guess I'm scared of losing weight during this time because I don't want them to think... "Well look how well she did! She doesnt need the band!" but I'm also scared of gaining because I don't want them to think I don't have the self control it takes to live life with the band. And thats how my weight goes.... I'm either losing or gaining.... what are they looking for during this time?

Thats exactly how I feel! I'm sooo excited! and nervous, and happy... aint it fun? I cannot wait to begin this new journey to a healthier me!

wow!! Nice to "Meet" ya! I'm having my band put in in Dallas! isnt Grapevine near Dallas? We ARE in the exact same boat! Today I chasing old Dr's down in hopes I can prove I've been FAT for over 2 years! Pictures wont work! lol I havent gone to the dr in a few years.. so I hope that doesnt mess things up. Oh I know!!I was on the TV show Wife Swap a few years ago, I'll just send em a DVD! hehehe

started the 3 month Aetna Ins pre-approval process today. There was really nothing to it! Next month I have my first visit w/ the nutritionist, *sigh* it seems so far away! has anyone had problems with Aetna being difficult to approve? I feel like they are waiting to find one i not dotted or one t not crossed so they can deny me. Anyone else feel this way?

Hi everyone! My name is Dana. I have been trying to find a way to get Lap-Band for over three years. But the fact that my ins. company had a $10,000 lifetime limit for weight-loss surg, I was turned down everywhere I went. I live in Texas, and my husband and I are raising 5 kids, so funds are tight and self-pay was not an option. I, like many here, have lost hundreds of pounds over the past 20 years... only to gain them all back as soon as I relax. I am one of the lucky few who does not have significant health issues caused by my weight, but I know it's just a matter of time. I weigh 303lbs today. can you say depressing??? Anyway... My message is DO NOT GIVE UP!! I have been incredibly blessed to find a Dr and Hospital who WILL do my Band!! LBS went above and beyond to make this happen. so.. If someone tells you no... Keep looking! Help is out there! Tomorrow I go for my first appointment to meet my ins requirements. (3 months of hoops) Then I get my band! I am so excited... and kinda scared that I'm dreaming and something will go wrong and it wont happen :party: I look forward to getting to know you all!
