  1. for me it was homemade meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I think it was the best (and tiniest) meal Ive ever had! :cursing: had no problems at all with it
  2. was banded on Oct 20, 2009 and so far have lost 74lbs (including 30+ pre op) This past week I caught a nasty stomach virus and had some major nausea and pretty violent throwing up. I took anti nausea meds.. but man I threw up alot! anyway... I'm feeling better today, except I hurt! I mean really hurt! I can't even gently press my upper stomach, I can't slouch, or take a deep breath without pain. I'm hoping I just really made it mad and bruised it, but in the back of my mind, I'm worried I messed up my band! I can drink and eat altho I'm being very very careful. any insight?
  3. Congrats!!! I can't wait to be there too!
  4. Hi all! so far so good! I'm down 42lbs (including pre-op diet weight loss) was scheduled for my first fill this week, but my DR and I decided that I have good restriction right now (full on 3/4 cup of food), I'll go for my first fill on Dec 3rd instead. :bored: Hope all are doing well!
  5. Thanks for the input y'all! I think I'm gonna call and postpone my fill for now. I'll keep ya posted!
  6. I was banded on 10/20/09. recovery has gone well. I've lost 42lbs total. But that was all before I started eating any "real" foods. My weight loss has kinda stalled since, I expected that so ok... I'm due for my first fill this Wed. I'm kinda concerned tho.... I think I may be one of the lucky ones who has restriction before their fills. Here is what I can/do eat. approx 3/4cup of food before I'm full, and it holds me for 3-4 hours. Cannot eat bread, no way no how. chicken is not my bands friend even when chewed to total mush. I've slimed a few times, and even been stuck on chicken, not fun! I'm wondering if I should reschedule my first fill for a few weeks from now... I want to use this tool (the band) to the fullest, but I do not want to be too tight either! My Dr is 6 hrs away and thats a factor too... How would you handle it? Is it restriction that I have? Or am I just clueless because I don't know what to expect? any advise?
  7. mine is in the middle, right under my sternum.
  8. LOVE it! It blends anything down to liquid stage or mushies if needed! I'm very happy with it! no more chunky Protein drinks!
  9. Good Luck y'all! I was banded almost a week ago, not a second of regret yet! We CAN and WILL do this!
  10. CONGRATS! I was banded the day before you. Hang in there! the energy will return!
  11. I'm 5 days post-band. Healing is going well, except I really wish they would figure out a way to remove more of the gas that they pump you up with when they preform abdominal surgery. I feel like I'm 8 months pregnant and pumped up like a beach ball. Without the uncomfortable bloating from this excess gas, I'd feel great! And it's absorbing a little more every day. I'm still on a full-liquid diet for the next week or so, thats the hard part! I'm getting really sick of sweet things. Almost everything I can eat is sweet. Protein shakes drinks sugar-free Jello sugar free pudding sugar free ice-pops you can only drink so much broth! There are times I feel really hungry and my stomach is growling wanting some real food. But most of the time, it's "head hunger". I mean, I became this fat for a reason.... NOT because I only ate what my body needed to survive and be healthy... I ate because I like it! I enjoy food! I enjoy cooking and eating with friends and family. I ate when I was upset, I ate when I was bored. I ate when I was happy and celebrating. I ate out of habit. This is where my band will come into play. These bad habits of mine won't go away.... But now I have the tool to help me keep the amount of food I consume under control when I DO eat. I've been pretty grumpy about the liquid diet stage, Until I hopped onto the scale this morning and saw I've lost almost 40lbs since I started my pre-op diet! I'm on my way!!!
  12. I was banded two days ago. So far, I'm thrilled! I've lost 30lbs so far from the pre-op diet etc, although I don't see it or feel it anywhere yet. I am so excited to be starting this new stage in my life... and so glad to finally be able to post in the "post-op" forum! Nice to "Meet" ya!
  13. Welcome! This forum is the BEST!
  14. I bought one too... will use it for the first time today and will report back
