Did I mess things up?

was banded on Oct 20, 2009 and so far have lost 74lbs (including 30+ pre op)

This past week I caught a nasty stomach virus and had some major nausea and pretty violent throwing up.

I took anti nausea meds.. but man I threw up alot!

anyway...

I'm feeling better today, except I hurt!

I mean really hurt! I can't even gently press my upper stomach, I can't slouch, or take a deep breath without pain.

I'm hoping I just really made it mad and bruised it, but in the back of my mind, I'm worried I messed up my band!

I can drink and eat altho I'm being very very careful.

any insight?

Definitely I'd call your doctor. The one thing my doctor said to me last visit is that the band won't usually slip unless you violently throw up a lot (exact words). I'd also stick to foods that won't irritate the band. They may just want you to take it easy and see how you feel but it's always good to find out.

Congratulations on your great loss so far!

Chances are, your band is just fine. Vomiting can cause a great deal of muscle soreness---and hopefully, that is what you are dealing with.

Still, I'd check in with your doctor, to be sure.

Good luck! You've had such tremendous success so far!
