  3. There was no attitude intended......sorry for the misunderstanding!
  4. Since you are posting in this forum, I assume you have computer access. Do your own research, the info is out there. GOOGLE IT! I researched like crazy before making my decision and even then things come up that I don't know about. This forum is a great source of information in itself. However, you should be able to have your questions answered by your surgeon's office. You should ask them for any literature they may have regarding the lapband. You are no different then anyone other patient out there. Educate yourself!

    A BIG NO NO!!!

I don't want to beat you up for falling off the wagon, but you have to know that you shouldn't eat those foods. You will not be successful unless you change your life style. Having a lap band is not about pushing the envelope to see how much you can eat before feeling full, its about being satisfied with much less food. Enough lecture, you know what to do JUST DO IT!!!

WTH WHY is my hair thinning?

My hair began falling out in month 4. It didn't stop falling out until month 10. New hair has been coming in for a while now but it is NOT the same kind of hair. It's kinky curly like a poodle and very, very dry and frizzy. My weight loss has taken a huge toll on my hair. I don't know exactly why this happens.....some say its lack of protein, but I like you, eat better post surgery then I did pre. I guess the moral of the story is: We can't have a great body and great hair too! Sorry, my attempt at humor.

Congestion After Fill and no weight loss

My endoscopy showed that I have an ulcerated esophagus. The endoscopy is unable to diagnose a slipped band so I have to go back for an upper G.I. x-ray to check my bands position, but the doctor thinks the ulcer is causing my pain and the other issues and that my band is probably fine.

Congestion After Fill and no weight loss

I'm having an endoscopy this afternoon because I've developed intense pain in my chest area. Will update later.

Congestion After Fill and no weight loss

Just wanted to pipe in here and say that I too get congested while I eat and have to stop eating and cough up mucus. I do believe the other poster is correct that it is our signal that we've eaten enough. I haven't had a fill in over a year, the congestion has only been going on for a few months now. I see my surgeon next week and plan to ask this same question.
  10. It is very common for your band to feel tighter while you have an upper respiratory infection. You need to go on a liquid diet until you feel you can keep food down. I suggest you focus on getting all your water in and not force the food as this will only irritate your stomach more and cause it to swell more. Hope you feel better!

    Hypothyroidism to hyperthyroidism from weightloss

Angel Eyes, I'm sorry I have no advice to give since I am in the same position. Being hyper hasn't helped me any either. I just keep plugging away and exercising every day and hopefully the weight will come off! Best of luck to you!

    Stuck Feeling in my throat

This could just be the way it feels when you have food in your pouch. Pressure is usually caused from eating too fast or eating too much.

    So tell me...

Hello, I was banded in April 2009. The first year I lost 107 pounds. In total I have lost 116 pounds. My high blood pressure is gone and I no longer take meds. Also, my hypothyroidism is gone. I feel great and have a great deal of energy to spare. I can no longer sit still and watch television with all the energy I have.

    Hypothyroidism to hyperthyroidism from weightloss

Hi Bobbi, I didn't have any significant change until around 114 pounds. Just be sure your doc keeps checking your levels.
