  1. I am also banded but am 10 years with it now! I got my surgery around July 2009 and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I haven't had a fill in about 6 years though and have some how managed. I did have some weight gain when I got pregnant both times because my doctor didn't want me to have any fluid in the band. I think my stomach has shrunk over time or something. I can't eat as much as I used to but I can pretty much eat anything I want. I do get stuck sometimes on bread and potatoes unless it has some sort of condiment on it then I am fine. I haven't had any problems or issues with my band in the last 10 years. Good luck to anyone that is getting it and may you have an easy journey!!!!

  4. Hi my name is Erica and I am 3 years out, I was 310 before surgery and I am currently around the 156lbs mark. I had no problem with the tranistion but there are times where and when you can get off of track by not eating the proper foods. Some people who gain weight are probably not eating the right foods to aide in losing the weight. I lost about the first 100 lbs during the first year. I have no problem eating anything and as long as it's in moderation the things you eat you should have no problems. Also if you do gain weight don't let it discourage you, you must have the confidence in knowing you had the surgery for a reason and it's not going to be easy. I was lucky enough to have no problems with my band or having problems eating after fills. I wish you the best of luck and if you need anything you can write me anytime
