  1. I'm with GB!! I did the suothbeach diet to get me started on my pre-op diet. My doctor said they follow that diet, so I thought I might as well start as I plan to go. It ends up that you incorporate more veggies and fruits into your diet, and just cut back on the carbs and fat. Healthy eating! thats what I plan to do.
  2. Okay guys, since I'm still learning on how to navigate this site, can anyone tell me if there is a way for me to single out this thread so I can go straight to it instead of trying to remember how I got here? lol
  3. Scooby, I'm so glad to hear that someone else felt "hungry" after surgery. I was a little nervous because I'm feeling hungry. <sigh> now I feel better, lol.
  4. Hi JT, I started full liquids today. I'll be on those for 2 weeks. I had gas and bloating right off the bat. I tell ya, the feeling of having to burp and not being able to is the pits! I'm told if I walk a lot it should calm down in a couple of days. Since my surgery was yesterday I haven't had any bm's yet. Hopefully that will help with this bloated feeling too. Now you know you shouldn't weigh yourself too much. I think they say 1 -2 pounds a week, so, sounds like you're on the 1 a week plan for now. I bet when you get your first fill you will lose it faster. I hope the info has helped. I'm jealous that you get mushy food on Sunday, lol. Keep up the good work JT! Terri Columbus, Ohio
  5. I was banded yesterday and am home now. It went great. I feel the "pressure" of the gas, and thats irratating, but other than that, it's not too bad. I'm so excited about the future and the "new me." Love to all who are banded in April
  6. LOL, I loved your story. I tell ya, I'm so nervous. I had my "last meal" today too. I was really bad, a mushroom cheesburger and onion rings!!!!! So now, I'm on clear liquids for the rest of the day. I don't have to "report" to the hospital until 9 am, but I tell ya, the day just seems to be flying by. I'm getting ready to pack my bag and all the other last minute things I have to do. I'm looking forward to comparing our surgery experiences with you. See you on the other side!!
  7. My surgery is tomorrow...can I just tell you I have elephants in my tummy, not butterflies. I go see my doctor in about an hour and a half. I'll just be so glad to be on the other side of this surgery. I'll keep everyone posted. My surgery is the 22nd at 11:00 <sweatin> lol
  8. Thank you soooo much!!! I promise I'm going to learn to do this myself, lol.
  9. Ugh, I can't get mine to add either. Everytime I tried, it would say that my message is too short, add at least 10 characters...well, I did, and it still didn't work...Did I mention that I'm a computer dummy? lol If someone would, would you either add me with a 20 lb loss, or write me back and tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong, lol.
  10. I know what you mean, I'm so nervous. Not about doing it or not, just nervous about the process. I know that I am going to be sooo much healthier, and I'm so excited about that. Thanks for the help with my ticker, lol. I'm a computer dummy! lol
  11. Hi Guys! I'm being banded on the 22nd. I'm just now starting to get nervous about the surgery. I'll be so glad when it's over! My dh <dear hubby> and I are going shopping tomorrow to get the stuff I'm going to need for the next few weeks. I've been planning what to "pack" for the stay in the hospital my self, 3 days ahead of time! Good luck to all the other April bandsters. I'm looking forward to talking with you all about our experiences. Terri
  12. Pharmgirl, thanks so much for adding me to the list, and for info on the april bandsters. I'm still trying to learn how to navigate the site, so any shortcuts are appreciated. Tell me how do you get your tickers to show up on your postings...I'm having a devil of a time figuring that out. lol
  13. Thanks for all the info. I did get a sheet from the doctor of things I'll need. I was just kind of hoping that I'd get like "the best Protein powder, or drink" things like that. I didn't get a lot of sample packets of everything so I was hoping I could "bypass" the hit or miss with some of these things lol And how do you get your ticker to post on here, I can't figure mine out, lol.
  14. Hello everyone, I'm so glad I found this site. I'm due to have my surgery on April 22, and as I'm sure many of you already know, I have sooo many questions. First. I've been reading the blogs and have been looking for the pre-surgery grocery list. If anyone can direct me that would be wonderful. I want to get out this weekend and get things I'll need when I come home. Thanks for all your help.
