  1. You don't need many clothes - just something to wear home and some pjs for the hospital if you choose. That leaves lots of room for pickles! What airlines are flying? You can generally to their website and it will give max dimensions for carryon .. what about your hubby? You can stash some pickes in his carryon too - don't forget!!!
  2. Is that where the appendix is located? Lower left side?
  3. My surgeon recommends 600-800 calories and under 30 carbs.
  4. Trust me, after 10 days on clear liquids, and 10 days on full liquids, you won't want to be staying on them any longer than you have to.
  5. I can swallow very small pills - if they're too big, I have to cut them in half or quarters.
  6. I think I'd better start keeping a list so we don't forget to get everything accomplished while you're here!
  7. Daisy - happiness does come from within and it is a daily choice - you can wake up and choose to be happy or you can wake up and choose to be unhappy. Yes, you have reasons to be unhappy - the passing of your father and having to deal with the fallout from that ... however, you have so many reasons to be happy -- Your dad lived to be 90 - Celebrate his life, not his death -you had him for a lot of years. You have two healthy children and you have GREAT grandbabies that you get to see almost daily. You have your health. You have a job. You have a house. You have a dog. You have a car. You have food to eat whenever you want it. You have friends. Don't all those things make you happy? Every morning when you wake up -- look yourself in the mirror and say "I choose to be happy today and this is why ...." and then SMILE SMILE SMILE ... after awhile it will become a habit ... besides, if you are always smiling, it really makes people wonder what you're up too!
  8. OH hey - that is a GREAT idea ... will have to see if Bearded is on board as he is the one who does all the driving. That would be awesome ... are you planning on packing any sweet pickles?
  9. Better start saving those $$$. I'm so glad she's doing well and she is so lucky to have you as a mom and so supportive.
  10. Malaika replied to attitudefree's topic in The Lounge
I think it depends on when you go in - probably not many there at 4:30 am... however, generally around 9 or so pacific time, you can find Tiffykins, Oregondaisy and myself - sometimes Ruthi and Soontobeskinny join us as well. We'd love to chat with you--hope to see you soon
  11. I don't remember seeing that post; however, have you tried doing a search and see if you can find it that way? I'm sure someone will respond and lead you in the right direction otherwise.
  12. Want to visit one while you're in LV?
  13. I've said it before - and I'll say it again -- I believe this says it all ... it hangs in the hospital right as you enter the wing where Dr. Aceves' patients stay ... I know, too, that Dr. Acves believes that God is with him in the OR. Turn your fears over to a higher power.
  14. I'd worry about you if you didn't have the last minute jitters.
  15. I'm so happy for you Judy - I know it seems like forever, but it will be here before you know it. I liked yogurt before my surgery, not so much so now -- so who knows, you may like it after your surgery and it won't taste like rotten gravy (me, I've never liked gravy either!)
  16. I didn't have to take off my nails - but I did just have them with clear polish - I'm sure if it's an issue, they will let you know, but changes are it won't be.
  17. Welcome Henry and congratulations on your weight loss journey - I agree with Judy - you'll be at your goal in no time. We look forward to hearing about your journey and any suggestions you may have for us.
  18. When I was on fulls, I so needed to crunch something, so I chewed little bites of celery and then spit them out ... got the crunch and the taste, but I didn't swallow ... so I think you're safe! :scared0:
  19. Glad to hear you had a better day eating wise at least!
  20. sorry my response was duplicative - the other posts didn't show up when I responded ... :scared0:
  21. You mail the check to a PO Box in the US. You pay the balance the day you have your pre-op tests in the form of a cashier's check. They do accept charge cards; however, they charge an additional fee for the use of them - I think like 3% -- get a cashier's check and you'll be safe. We've done it that way 2 times -- once for my surgery, once for Bearded's. As for the deposit, they will take a personal check.
  22. You can have an inner ear infection and not even know it - my mom had one so bad that made her dizzy and nauseaus to the point they almost had to put her in the hospital with sand bags on each side of her head to keep her head from moving ... it won't hurt to have it checked out! You might want to do that soon so that if it is an ear infection you can get on antibiotics before flying to Vegas.
  23. Thanks for sharing Steve and Phoenix too -- I will have to look at WalMart for that brand -- I don't generally shop at WalMart; however, next time I'm in there, I'll check it out.
  24. GAS-X and a heating pad maybe? I am so sorry you're in pain ... maybe you over ate?
