  1. Happy 36th Birthday brina212!

  2. Sorry I have to answer everyone in one big lump. I'm on my cell at work.... Gas issues: Get Gasex or another type of pill for that. You can not drink soda so no gingerale, caffeine or carbonated beverages right now. No no no. lol. Its too harsh to ur new swollen tummy. It will expand your pouch, u dont want that either. Keep walking to work that gas out. Call ur doc to suggest something else. The tea thing is fine just make sure the tea isnt caffinated. Caffine is a dirrectic and should not be in your diet in the first few months. Half a snack size or what u feed babies will be your real small meal for now as of couple months out. ahh.. right out the gate a few bites the most if your belly can even take that. It depends from person to person but it may be about 6 to 9 months out bf you can have what u would call modified normal meal portions. Its a life style change so start making adjustments. Doggie bags will get crazy at this stage so just share your hubbies food, order off kids menu or appertizer section. email me for better specifics on that. Read your handbooks on the rules and / or email me and I send u a copy of mine . Sporternyc@yahoo.com
  3. Ask me anything u guys like. The first week of july made 12 months out for me.
  4. Yeah ur still tender & sore & swollen. Give it time. Even sneezing was a b***h I needed assistence in the shower & u cant bend over or u will just fall. Burp is good. Either the front or back. You need to get that gas out much as possible.

    How Do You Sleep?

I stayed proped up on,a bad couch with pillows. A recliner would have been, better. The second night,i got in bed laid on my,side & was flanked by pillows. For like a couple months I had urges,to keep a pillow snugged on tummy for some odd reason.
  6. My experience was none but then again that was because I was taking Biotin pills early as a daily regiment. How to minimize it, make sure you are taking all your Vitamins & getting all or as much as possible the Protein that is required daily at your particular stage. Oh yeah, the hair loss your experiencing is not from the procedure or having the vsg. Its the surgery itself the anestisia.
  7. Yes, what u speak of is the case.. You must walk walk walk & keep walking to get that gas out that u got during surgery. As for the apple sauce is concern test foods out in ur stage a little at a time & see if ur new tummy can handle it. Imma be honest with u, ur sleeve can be funny & tell u hell naw in a minute.

Has Anyone Tried The Bariatric Snacks?

Which ones first off, I've tried the cereals honey and coco, the meat snacks bbq & original, and the chips sea salt & bbq. They are decent. You may wanna do the chips with ff sour cream or cottage cheese. Remember they do not taste like regular chips they may taste like styrafoam or a rice cake to u & u may not like em. If u looking for a protein laced snack to ween yourself off of snacks its worth it, if u want a great snack comparable to potato chips and u crave that potato chip texture & taste, you maybe disappointed with baratric chips. Pre-op weight loss?

Hey Jenny, Sure did. My doc told me to lose that same 30lbs.I pushed the antie and lost as much as i could before hand. Doring so helps in many ways. Helps jump start the weight loss and helps with the liquid diet to shrink that liver so it won't get damaged when they move it out of the way on surgery day. It also gives you confidence as well as the docs that you plan to do everything they tell you to do because this is a life changer and it started bf surgery and you have to do everything they tell you after also. After your surgery you are by no means out of the woods yet. My journey i started out at 485lbs... after researching and considering and more reading and then issues with insurance which all started in 2009, i am finally sleeved, july 8th of this year. 2 weeks out so far. Back to your concern, sorry. Because i started out so heavy as a further safety my doctor put me on blood thinners afterwards.. Ask me all the questions you need that i could possibly answer. Be confident and sure in your choice, don't go through this half cocked.. Good Luck in your journey. -Brina

  11. The first few nights have been a challenge because sleeping has been a little difficult. I can only get in 3 hours or 4 before i am up tossing around trying to find a good position. Each day the issue becomes less and less but i have to remember, i just got home from the hospital just monday and i should relax a little bit. lmao.

  12. Thanks everyone. Things went very well. My surgeon said things couldn't be better in his eyes. I am happy for that. I had to stay an extra day in the hospital to complete my water test because the 2nd day they gave me a barum swollen that rock my world, i was out of commission and my tummy didn't fill yummy after that. Felt like i had to puck all night until it worked its way out of my system.

  13. Hi how did the op go!! how are u feeling.. hope all goes well..
