Hello..I was banded July 22nd, so close to you...

Oh my...sounds just like me...ny port site in real sore, feels like pulling, especially when I move (get up from the couch, toilet, etc.)So how are you doing?, how much have you lost? are you on food or liquids?

Hopefully we can keep in contact & follow each other along this NEW journey of ours. We are sooo close, we can compare stories!!!!

How are you doing???? I am doing very well...I am still on liquids(protein shake,s/f pudding or yogurt, water, crystal light)....I am going to try to last on this for at least a week after surgery, longer if possible....

Hey Girl,

I am sooooo upset & pissed off right now, it turns out that the "authorization" numbers given to me by the rep at my insurance co. were NOT authorization #s they were reference #s. I HAVE NOT BEEN APPROVED YET, they are requiring MORE testing to be done:cursing: I am distraught. I pray everything works out..!!

Congrats Girl:thumbup:..you are almost there. I agree the optifast is VERY expensive, I didn't think they would give us a choice, they make it like we HAVE to buy it. I mean look how expensive Dorys visits are, & we ONLY have 1 fill covered then we have to pay for any more at $85.00 + $250.00(office visit fee)=335.00........I will be broke, nevermind skinny....So many other doctors (like where I was originally going to go before my PCP referred me to Lawrence Hosp.)cover fills for the first 6 months to a year after surgery. I really never hear anything about the doctors either:ohmy:

(except from the people at Lawerences support group)

Dont worry you will do FINE...I am so worried & scared :scared2:for my children for the 2 weeks that I am on the pre-op liquid diet..I know I am going to be miserable and a royal BITCH:cursing:, my poor kids & co-workers. I have given them warning now

Dr Silva is doing my surgery too.

I called Dr. Silvas office in the Bronx today & spoke to Tanya, she said she still doesn't have ny approval, but she will set a tentative date for surgery of July 15th. I will get excited when THEY have the approval. I have the authorization numer but I guess its not good coming from me.

Keep me posted on your progress on our journey.

No word yet from my insurance:frown: I dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. It has been over a week. I think I will defineley take your advice & call myself.

I am soooo excited to find someone on here who is using the same doctors as me. My PCP referred me to these doctors & Lawrence hospital. (originally I was going to go to Westchester Med. Cntr). I have done the seminar, the cardiologist,. This week I go for my psych eval. and the support group in Bronxville & next Tuesday I need with Dory Ferraro (I think that visit includes the dietician, Hopefully since I ahve to pay out of pocket for it)

I dont really know what my next step will be after I meet with Dory....I hope I am almost at the end of the pre-op stuff...I want to be there already...LOL

I hope we can stay in touch and talk along the way, I know I sure can use having someone who knows what this is like..........
