Hi everyone,
Well the countdown is here...only 4 more days for me. Nervous and excited at the same time. The nurse at the hospital told me I could take a xanax to calm myself the morning of surgery. I took a 1/2 today to take the edge off. This is such a big decision for all of us and I think we are all very brave to do this. So lets all pat ourselves on the back! Very good!
My pre-op has been so so. I honestly haven't been very strict with it. The nurse told me it is not a deal breaker, so of course that led me to believe I didn't have to be too strict. I will be for the next 4 days. Only Protein Shakes and no added fats with any food I eat...which will be mostly Protein. Need to drink more liquids to flush my system too.
I hope those of you who have been banded are doing well and those of you in line like me are hanging in there. Looking forward to hearing more from all of you.

SO glad I found some December Bansters! My date is December 11. I started this process back in April. Kind of anxious and scared as well as excited. Start the pre-op the day after Thanksgiving. "that is one of the things I am grateful for!!)

I also think you need to do what you feel right about. Obviously there are pros and cons to all the WLS surgeries. I just feel like the LB is the least invasive and altering to our bodies. It is a tool to help. But the rest is up to us and how we deal with it.

The person who told you that you were taking up too much of their time and resources should be fired! You should be outraged. Afterall, it is you and your insurance that is paying them their salaries!

Thanks for the reply. I should look into their program as well as Beaumont's. I am still undecided as to what to do or to go through with it at all. I am chickening out so to speak. I will go on line today and see if they have a seminar I can go to. Please keep me posted as to how you are doing. You can also email me at lindanton@sbcglobal.net if you would rather. I would love to keep in touch. I live in Royal Oak, but am an east sider and used to live in Warren, and all my family lives on the east side. . . clinton township, etc.
GOOD LUCK to you!

Hi All,
I am in the proces of learning more about the band and have been to two seminars at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak MI. I am afraid to commit to it, but feel I really have no other choice. I have been dieting all my life from age 12! And I am once again at my all time high of 265! So really I see no other option and that is why I am here. So any words of advise you have would be greatly appreciated! Good luck to you all and if you have any encouragement for me to get over the fear please help me out.

Hi, I am new too and also from the D. (Royal Oak) I am looking into the Beaumont program. Can you tell me where you are having your surgery? I would really like to know more about surgery in the Detroit area, other doctors and hospitals. I have been to two seminars so far. Took my husband to one as well. I have met Dr. Krauss so far. But would like to meet the other Doc there before I make a decision. Good luck and any advise you have would be appreciated!
