  1. Sounds like the soundtrack in my head. When my friends and I were waiting for letters of acceptance or rejection to get into grad school we would sing that! Then when my letter came, I did a rousing rendition of Even the losers get lucky sometime! Anyway as you know my weight loss has gone slow so I have to be patient but my weight has never gone up this whole time so I know I am on the right track. I have just scraped by the halfway point and feel like I have kind of figured it all out at least at this point...LOVE your blogs!
  2. The good thing is, the scale doesnt care how you feel! Congrats...I always enjoy your blog!
  3. I dont like yogurt either but greek yogurt is more like sour cream so if you put it on refried beans or a baked potato its excellent. Its in the yogurt section but not all stores have it!

Good luck and let us know how it goes...PS Unless your normal temp is low, 99.2 is not a fever and is not even abnormal!

Its the beginning of something great...keep us updated.
  6. Thrilled for you...enjoy it, you deserve it!
  7. It looks delicious but when you are at your sweet spot you probably cant even eat a half of that...a good thing considering the fat grams are pretty high...good protein though!
  8. I really just put them in at around 300 degrees and then just stir them around a few times until they seem dry. I am not a good cook so I guess I havent paid attention to the time! I bought an edamame dip the other day that I really liked and will prob try making myself (beans in the food processor and some greek yogurt and spices?)I really dont use mayo anymore and I have never liked the reduced fat or cal versions of mayo so I just use the yog! I bet you could bake the edamame beans the same way...hmmmm Oh I also use hummus to mix into canned tuna instead of mayo...I really like the red pepper flavor!
  9. I also really like the Sabra hummus. I eat it with raw vegetables mostly.I also buy the canned garbanzo beans, drain them really well, season them with spices and put them on a baking tray and bake them to a delicious dry snack.
  10. Good luck. You'll get a lot of support and very honest info here...welcome!!
  11. You sound like you are right on track!
  12. Sorry Doc, you're dead wrong...your statement shout be "Why you shouldn't eat iceberg lettuce" If its dark green its a must, a protein can be in the salad in beans, cheese, and other non meat options...
  13. Also a veg, so I eat a lot of beans. I love the refrieds made with black beans and a garnish of hot sauce and greek yogurt for the sour cream. No problem with beans or salad...
  14. Glad you're back to blogging...I LOVE your blogs and their epic good vs evil style! I can tell youre on a mission! Iwont wish you good luck...luck doesnt have much to do with it...

Good luck, the preop diet is no fun but I told my self it was the last time I would ever diet and it has been! I am excited for you...keep us posted!
  16. Awesome...its the beginning of something great for you!!! Keep us posted...the preop diet sucks but I think its the last diet you'll ever do!

That story is an NSV (non scale victory) if ever there was!!! Thanks for sharing it!
  18. Even though its hard not t see any loss on the scale, do you remember the old diet days where you'd lose some and then the second you let your guard down...BOOM! you had started gaining again? Makes staying the same seem pretty good, huh? Keep doing what you're doing!
  19. That's my only regret too...that I didnt do it sooner...but I needed it 20 years ago and it wasnt available... I think its awesome that you are going to be a spokes person for the band...I also have an Allergan.
  20. First...it will take a few days for things to settle down and know where you are in terms of restriction. Even just getting a fill can cause a little swelling that will make you feel more restricted than you are. Second sliming is where you are going to throw up or you need to and the body nows it bur all that comes up is this awful clear mucous (slime) that doesnt even want t break off from your lip to the toilet...its pretty gross but the body makes that slime to help you get something up easily that cant stay. Usually after the slime I will vomit the last bite of whatever caused the trouble and feel much better. I have never been a pb'er but it stands for productive (think vomit) burp. I guess its kind of a loud burp with vomit! Sounds hideous but both are nature and the band's way of telling you you have been bad. Either too much food or too little chewing! Good luck...you'll do great! PS: If you havent been reading band-groupie's blog you should be...it went public recently and even now, I sometimes read back through her long journey just to get back on track with myself! It will probably answer questions you dont even know you have and you'll laugh yourself to tears while reading it!! Join us all there!
  21. Glad to hear how you guys are doing. The holidays without a gain is all good! I have had to rededicate myself because I was really slacking there for a while and then telling myself I didnt know why i wasnt losing! Duh! I think I'm back on track!

I feel like I 'wasted' three months thinking I was eating small portions and then wondering why my weight stayed the same!As soon as I started writing it all down two things happened: 1. I saw how bad I had been eating compared to now! 2. I lost weight! Good luck girl, its a long slow process of learning!

Awesome! I'm excited for your tuck! I hope I can get to that point! Have you followed band_groupie to her new page? She always reminds me a little of you because she's so honest!
  24. Me six. And when I dont for a while, I am slacking and that's kind of how I know it!
