  3. Fantastic, thats a great NSV (non scale victory)! And Barbara, what a generous thought to give the belt to someone to spare their feelings at having to ask! Maybe write the url for this website on the back of it!

We're all with you...at one time or another! Take care.
  6. Just to make you all feel better for all this crazy insurance stuff...Mine said there was no way they would pay because I wasnt fat enough (hello!?!) and had no comorbidities(yet!!) ...so I had to write a big check to my surgeon! It was worth it of course but if I could do a six month diet and get back all that cash...well you know!

Forgive yourself and work on lifestyle not a date goal...this is NOT a diet and if you treat it as one (have to lose x pounds by x day) you are more likely to fail. Get a fill if you need one and get ALL slider foods out of your house and life. The other day I was feeling bingey but could still only cram the gut with a half cup of food! Painful bitchslap I needed! Good luck friend, you ARE succeeding... PS I always recommend reading band_groupie's blog from beginning to end as you have time, its funny but also very inspiring!

I am totally with you...my doc is 4 to 5 hours away and can be longer depending on the LA (maniacs!) traffic. But I think he and his office are worth it!
  9. Your link took me to tickerfactory!
  10. Seems like someone should have a look at it in case she needs a course of antibiotics (sooner the better) maybe she could go to the student health center?Or an urgent care place..your doc really just leaves you with no care for the whole other six days of the week? No partners or nurses or PA's ???Well good luck...

I hope you got an abdominal binder...I woke up from my surgery with one on. It makes a huge difference in pain because it kind of holds everything in so your gut doesnt schlump around. The one time I took it off to take a shower...wow, pain! You can get it at a drugstore...its just a big white elastc band sort of like a waist shaping garment but with velcro!Otherwise, its just time...good luck its totally worth it!
  12. Good for you...put those pix away...they are a thing of the past!! Let us know how it goes when you can!
  13. Agree with grizzly 100%! LET YOUR FAMILY SHOW THIER SUPPORT BY FENDING FOR THEMSELVES A BIT!

I am at my point of perfect restriction and get hungry about every three to four hours. Only very occasional craving or head hunger. Mostly I just get hungry, eat a tiny meal to very full (less than 3/4 c.) and then I'm good for three to four hours! It only took me two fills.

Hang in there...I thought I was just one a plateau (for more than two months!) but when I started writing down everything I ate I realized I was really eating way too much of the wrong stuff and even throwing up pretty regularly... Anyway I really got back on track and stopped eating to the point of any painful warning and have started losing easily again... Hang in there and of course be glad you didnt gain!!To me, not gaining is a whole new NSV!

I use calorieking on my laptop but what you have sounds much more comprehensive...thanks for the tip!
  20. Yes, really well-put. I think the best thing about the band for me is the new empty space in my head previously occupied with obsessive food thoughts! Food is more like a coworker than even a friend now...previously obsessive object of passion. I have to see and deal with her every day but I dont think about her much! Thanks as always for your blog!

Those will be lucky people to have you and your sparkling personality and brutal honesty in hearing about the band! Rock on, Lady in Red!

I have had two good runs of what I would call perfect restriction and the feeling of each of them was totally different. I really dont know why. The first time I would feel full, take a deep breath and get a little pain in my left shoulder. If I kept eating (slow learner) it would be trouble! Then the second time (now) its more like a not hungry feeling, no pain, no shoulder, and I really have to be sensitive to it because the next bite will be trouble. I have no idea why its different but its working at least!
  25. I just finally got into the 10s today...I have tried them on way too many times and they just gave me a huge muffin top...I have a fat waist, the hips are never an issue. Anyway I was feeling pretty good today and thought I'd disappoint myself one more time by trying them on and...WOW they fit! I dont believe I could just go shopping and randomly buy size 10s though. These are a 10 short Levis and I have to wonder if they run big...whatever, I'm happy! If anyone out there hasnt seen Lellow's pix with the jeans each laid on top of the other...go to her page and look. I did one of my own for my home screensaver!!
