I am 5 days post op and so glad the band is out. The doc said he thought it would be an easy removal but had some difficulty getting it out due to some adhesions. I'm so glad I made the decision to remove it before it did some real long term damage. I was lucky enough to convert to the sleeve in the same surgery. I was 225 going in to surgery so we are pretty close. I thought bypass was too extreme for what I needed and I also debated about if I should do anything at all. In the end I remembered why I did the band to begin with and the likelihood I would regain if I didn't do the sleeve. That made the decision easier. Other than the difficulty removing the band and having to take a little more of my stomach than he wanted, I did fine with no complications and came home the next day. Mine is coming out Aug 6th. Aug 4th would be 4 yrs with band and port issues. Not sure what I will convert to if I do at all. My Dr. is telling me either sleeve, or bypass. I'm at 215 now before removal so I would think that bypass is out. good luck to you
