I guess I did get the night before crazies! More 2nd guessing my decision than anything else. I went over and over the reasons in my head and then slept like a baby the rest of the night. I was THAT sure. To the hospital at 6 am and home at 5 pm. Surprisingly, I have ZERO gas or real pain to speak of. I'm a little sore where my incisions are - but nothing intolerable. I'm up and walking and have been on ice chips and Jello today. All that worrying for nothing...(let's just hope I'm not speaking too soon). I agree with you on the shake, chicken broth and popsicles. Isn't that odd that they taste so different now? Wonder why? From here, it's one day at a time......and I'm with you...I'd do it all over again!

It's the night before the big event that I've been waiting a really long time for. I'm more excited than nervous. My surgery is scheduled for early morning, so by this time tomorrow, I will officially be a "bandster." The pre-op diet has not been bad at all. I had 7 days of meal replacements, protein supplements and 2 meals of 2oz protein and 1/2 cup veggies. It felt like I was always eating/drinking something and I was never hungry. The last 3 days were full liquids (MR & PS) and I'm pretty proud to say that I only cheated once during this 10 day period, having 3 tortilla chips with salsa. Here's hoping tomorrow goes as well as some of you have done and I'm up and moving on to my new life quickly!

Just curious how long those of you that have already had the lap band surgery stayed in the hospital. Was it an overnight stay? Same day, outpatient? Several days? For those who had outpatient - how did you feel when discharged to go home?

Wow! So many scheduled for September! That is AWESOME. I am scheduled today for 09/09/09 as well. That is a date I will never forget. Are you all as excited, scared, hopeful & worried as I am??

Hello! I have BCBS-NJ and was just approved last week for lap-band. It took them almost 2 months to review & answer, but it was approved. I believe it does have to do with what your company may have specifically included/excluded in your benefits.

Congrats!!! Isn't it excited and scarey at the same time? I also received my approval letter last week and I'm now waiting on a surgery date. Hopefully, time will pass as quickly as the last 6 months have and we will all be well on our way!

I have to agree with Airkuhl!! A Wii system is probably the best investment I've made so far. I can't recommend it enough, ESPECIALLY if you are just starting out and have not been very active. Also, if you have kids, they can play along with you and feel like they are taking part in your success! My son LOVES it! The Wii is a lot of fun and you really do get moving and your body feels it. Aside from the "fit" and the "active" programs, the bowling or tennis or boxing get you off the couch and are fun!

I, too, am pre-op and an avid "bud lime" fan. Although I don't drink a lot - I'm more concerned about the ability to give up the bud lime than I am about giving up any other food. Is that odd?? Being the height of the summer season and the host of a lot of pool parties, it's on my mind a lot....but I think having the surgery in early fall and then going through the first stages of post-op in the winter, it won't be such an issue. But, next spring/summer will certainly be a test!

After what seemed like a really, really long time, I got the call from my insurance company!! I immediately called my Dr's office & the scheduler is on vacation.....so no news on a date until Monday. I'm still so excited!

I have BCBS of NJ and my paperwork was submitted on June 16th. I'm like you, very anxious, but everyone has told me they are good with approvals, but very s-l-o-w on the reviews. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to hear from them soon!

How exciting for both of you!! I can't believe how fast your approvals went through. I have BCBS of New Jersey and they have had my paperwork since June 16th and I am STILL waiting!! Guess that is the difference between Texas and New Jersey, eah? :thumbup::tongue:

Hi, all!! Wanted to check in & see how everyone is doing. I think this thread got buried!! I am still waiting on insurance. They say they have up to 30 days....so we will see. Some of you are getting close! Everyone moving along ok??
