  1. Janelle- I'm so thankful for your post!!! I really needed that and will refer to it often. I had my brother pass away unexpectedly last month, came home to have a few weeks before going to a huge girls camp that I was partly in charge of and went straight from girls camp to Mexico to be banded. When I got home and I was on liquids Yikes!! NO comfort food. I fell apart. My very best friend is moving out of the State. Found out today. Anyways, I've been very discouraged. I needed that. I am so happy that I've done this for myself though. I am only 35 and have lost both parents and now a sibling to Heart Disease. I need to be here for my family. I won't be a downer from now on, but, that's how I felt today. Julia June 2, 2006 Dr. Ortiz 233 Starting 220 now
  2. Great to know. Thanks. I chewed it to death. Julia
  3. Thanks Linda. That's good to know. Julia
  4. Hi All- I've been banded for 3 weeks and today was my first day of solids. For Breakfast I had a spoon of Peanut Butter and about 4 saltines. For lunch, some shredded chicken and salad- chewed to death. Dinner- 4 oz. Steak and a small side salad and a small order of steamed veggies. It was a kids meal. Did I eat too much? It all went down fine. I could have kept going but, once I gave it a minute I was very satisfied. How much is too much? Thanks, Julia I'm addicted to this site. You all are fun. Banded June 2, in Mex w/ Dr. Ortiz Starting weight 233/ now 220
  5. Hi and Welcome~ I got banded June 2, 06- 3 weeks ago in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. He's wonderful and I and my husband were so impressed with the facilities. Half the price than it was here in Phoenix. I Good luck and just go for it. I'm so glad I did. First week was hard. I started solids today. I hope I didn't eat too much. Does anyone have any feed back on this? I'm still learning about how to post. I hope this works. Julia
  6. Hi I'm a new one to the board. I love reading all of your comments. I was "banded" on June 2, 2006 in Mex w/ Dr. Ortiz. Awesome experience. I'm 6 days our and "starving". Is that normal? I'm also really puffy from the anesthesia????? Haven't lost a pound? That's ok. Any in-put? Julia
  7. Hi I'm new to this site. Still trying to figure out where to leave my first message. I got my band last friday in Tiajuana with Dr. Ortiz. Great experience. My stomach is growling. Can you really only handle 1/2 cup of liquids at a time?? I think I could handle much more than that. Haven't lost a pound but, not discouraged because it's only been 4 days and I still feel "puffy" from the Anesthesia?? Any Advice?? By the way, sounds like you all are a good support group. Happy to be here. Julia
