Had my surgery July 1. I was losing weight like crazy. I had one 4 day stall in August- not too bad. Then Sept rolls in, Already lost 58 lbs since July 1. I stalled from Sept 5 to Sept 12 (7 days) then I only lost 2 lbs ! Then stalled again from Sept 13 to Sept 20 and lost another 2 lbs this morning .. I hope it gets better tomorrow and next week. I am eating exactly same diet religiously 650-700 calories per day and tons of Water (over 100oz) , and 75-85g Protein every day . On another note I have been a lot more active and doing things around the garage and yard, cutting tree limbs, etc. I know I'm building muscle and my pants are getting more slack. I am thinking about getting into swimming at the gym to get some cardio in. Anyone have suggestions on how to keep the stalls from happening ? Thanks !

I have to hide my scale when stalls happen, otherwise I’ll be obsessive about it. They are part of the deal as our bodies adjust to extreme, rapid weight loss. Annoying, but inevitable. Keep working your program and keep your eyes on the big picture.

Oh gosh, they suck. No way to avoid. It's your body's way of catching up with itself. ((hugs)) Stay the course, continue to weigh, and eat to plan and it WILL happen. Congrats on your losses, you are doing phenomenally well!!

So do measurements with a tape measure MUCH more accurate especially when you are stalled and feeling fed up. Also the next pic is a true story

I just hit my 5-month mark and stalled for almost two weeks. Keep following the plan didn't look at the scale for a week. Noticed yesterday that I'd lost 7 pounds last week. So as everyone else says to follow the plan the weight will come off. Look for now weight wins. Went from 36 down to 34 without any weight loss.

It's been about 7 weeks since surgery and I've lost 45 lbs and now I've been in a stall for the last 5 days. Hopefully it will get back to normal in a few days., Nothing has changed, I'm still drinking lots of Water, eating same foods.. keeping calories to 650/day as per Docs orders... I guess this is normal for the weight loss ? Your body just readjusting itself ?

Oh Darn, Thanks for the info, I hadn't thought about this sauce being high in calories. I thought I was getting a good mix of Protein and vegetables. I guess I'll try it without the sauce. I bet it still tastes good.

Yes I guess if we're going to be successful with this we have to embrace BORING .. but it can be done with good food choices and flavors that will make it easier .. I for one can't wait to make some split pea Soup .. one of my all time favorites..

    6. Smashed cauliflower with bacon and green onions (put in a food processor)
    7. Any Soup or chili made bariatric style
    8. Fish in foil pouches with lemon and spices/herbs.
    9. zucchini sauteed with onion, tomatoes and herbs and pureed--can add any kind of lean meat.< /span>

That's one key factor most people miss completely, processed foods. I stopped eating processed foods right after my surgery. It has made a great difference in my initial weight loss and now my maintenance. As usual Fluffy has some great points in her post. By gaming the system or as the pros say, Eating Around Your Restriction you will not be successful and thus you will not get the long range health benefits.

Seaweed and tofu are good but make no mistake, you will not be able to sustain such restrictive diet. Look at this forum and get receipt ideas. Research receipt ideas on line and try to go to support groups where there are people in the room who can assist you. Good luck and good health.

@texasnewf So the thing we're all jumping on here to discuss is that this is the new post surgery honeymoon period. As a doc explained to me that in the first 2 months you will lose the MOST amount of weight you will ever lose as a direct result of this surgery. She explained that it was because of the extreme calorie/volume restriction.
But any of us can game the system from the get go. We do that by drinking liquid calories, or eating "slider" calories. Even from day 1 post surgery! If you eat high calorie (dense calories) with high fat and high sugar and highly processed, it will impact your health and also the rate of loss.
So in essence, you are trying to "game the system" because of your food addictions and food enmeshment. The honeymoon period as was said above, is to allow you time to begin breaking up with food. Embrace the suck. Embrace "boring" (ie not Chinese or Pizza). LOL. Embrace food antipathy. Keep your Protein high, carbs and fat low and learn that life is about more than that next fix--that next bite.
During the honeymoon phase you CAN actually rebuild your gut biome. By eating health foods: lean dense protein, veggies, healthy fats and a TINY amount of dark berries you get to where you crave THAT kind of food! You crave healthy foods prepared simply and cleanly. And at some point the cease to be "boring" and rather just "pure" or "cleanly prepared." But you don't get there if you continue to use your old food crutches of Chinese/Pizza/Mexican highly processed foods.
And I think that's what we're all kinda a little "undone" about in your post. And with the newest batch of newbies this summer...

So much sodium! drinks loads of Water.
Also, I’d advice against puréeing any further meals, just because you CAN eat it, doesn’t mean you should
