  2. ok so did we come up with a name for us March 09 bandsters???
  3. Hey everyone! I'm 6 days post-op from being banded and just wanted to know... What are the signs of a slipped band? Can you tell or is it something the dr finds?? Thanks and Good luck to all!
  4. You can do it! Kudos to your hubby for doing it with you. Just keep looking forward to that surgery date!!
  5. Ibuprofen and aspirin can cause ulsers in the pouch, thats why they ask u not to take them. Try before u have ur band, Tylenol Extra Strength LIQUID, its awesome. I used it instead of the pain meds the dr prescribed for after surgery. Good luck!
  6. I was also banded last weds. and having the same stuff going on. My stomach rumbles like crazy!
  7. Yes, that patch is a biiig help, they used it on me right before surgery so I wouldn't get sick from the anesthesia. It's called Transdem Scop or Scopolamine.
  8. I haven't had the hair loss issue with the band because I just had it done, but years ago when I was on the Phen Phen my hair fell out from loosing that weight rapidly. I took Biotin and used Biotin Shampoo. It helped me maybe its something u can look into... Michelle
  9. Hey Ink we were just in the chat room. I have a very good list of foods my Dr gave me. I'm doing the Isopure instead of the shakes for the first week. But if you cant handle the isopure that's cool to do the shakes. You can also have sugar free jello, clear 100% fruit juice,Popsicles, Gaterade, Decaf coffee, diet Snapple, propel, Fruit 20 and water. He recommended sipping 6oz of liquids for every hour u are awake. hope this help you.
  10. Wow.. I had that patch put on by my anesthesiologist and he made the point, about 5 times, to wash my hands if i touched it. My surgical nurse told me about 6 times to be careful. I cant believe no one told you??!! Bummer..... I think I'd be looking into the matter on who's responsibility it was to inform you.
  11. No comparison, I've had 3 c sections. I was up and around no problem. You will be fine.
  12. Same here Picklesix.. i can start on the protein shakes weds, but i might go ahead and try some since it has helped you. I feel almost out of breath just doing alittle walking in my house.
  13. Hi There! oh you are so lucky!! Wish I was eating soft food. Im still on the liquid as i have only been banded since weds. But I have a really good booklet the Dr gave me on some food ideas. This is considered "transitional foods(soft solid diet)"..soft scrambled eggs, finely chopped meat, chopped cooked vegs, baked or mashed potatoes, Hot cereal. .cream of wheat, grits, oatmeal, soups including chili, cottage cheese, yogurt, pudding (sugar free). Hope this helps, if you have any ideas, let me know!! Good luck!
  14. Gurl....Haters:sneaky: are everywhere! You just need to concentrate on YOU and forget about what everyone else thinks. 28 lbs is awesome and I bet your co-workers can tell. If they aren't encouraging you and helping you, then find someone that is. You need positive people, not negative people in your life now. Like the old saying goes.. Misery loves company. Get out of their zone and into a positive one! Good luck to you.
  15. Hey everyone! I was banded on 3-11 and still on the clear liquids. My Dr. recommended that I drink, or sip 6 oz. of liquid for every hr I'm awake. It helps to be sipping through out the day. I do eat the jello and broth also. Some drink ideas for you, and if anyone has any different ones let me know... Isopure, Diet Snapple, Propel, and Fruit2O. I was told to aim for 64 oz a day. But, I also get that bloated feeling and tummy rumbling.
  16. Oh, i know exactly what you mean! Im having the same rumbling in my lower stomach, like Im not eating enough. I'm 4 days post op, and preying this feeling will go away! I'm also on the clear liquids, ie-isopure, broth, jello, apple juice. Did anyone have a Hiatal Hernia repaired during surgery?
  17. Hey Everyone, Im here from N. Georgia ( GO Dawgs).. Im having my surgery Wednesday the 11th. I cant wait, I want to get on with it,lol Hey Moni,, what part of NY?
  18. Msperson...Thats awesome. My surgeon called me Thursday and told me they had the 11th open, so I jumped on it. I have been on the liquids for only 4 days. Its all good now, the first day I was lightheaded and miserable, I just slept, lol
  19. Hi Barbara! You have already made the hardest decision, and that was to have the surgery done. I am having my surgery Weds, the 11th, and I was pretty nervous when they called me to schedule the date. I knew then that there was no backing out now. lol But I am so ready! I just keep telling myself that the next week or month is gonna be better, and Im gonna feel so much better. Good luck on your journey, its worth it!!
  20. Good luck to both of you, it sounds like you are on your way!! My surgery is Weds, the 11th. Im so looking forward to it! My co-worker was like you before her first fill. She said she could REALLY tell the difference after the first time and nervous transitioning to more solid food. Please let us know how it its for you.
  21. Good question MJG.. I was wondering the same thing. Like you, I am a single gurl that likes to go out and kick it up once in awhile ,
  22. Hey all! Does anyone have a surgery date for Weds the 11th??? I would like to buddy up with some people. Let me know if you're interested. Im on the liquid diet now, the first 3 days was ... well, not good.. lol.. but I just keep telling myself "tomarrow it gets better".. Michelle
