Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

BJean, I appreciate you taking your time to let me know I am not alone here. I lost 28lbs and then gained it all back and more. SO I am really feeling blue about this surgery. I agree with everything you said and I would never reccomend it to anyone. If I could diet before I wouldn't have need this surgery. SO sorry you are having the same problems. Good Luck with your next fill. Donna

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

I was banded in May 2006 and have had 3 or 4 fills and I still don't feel them. Now more than 6 months later I have gained weight instead of lost it. I think that it is almost time to remove this forgeing boby from my stomach and pray to for help I need to lose weight because this certainly was no help to me. Sincerely, Donna:mad: :cry p.s. I don't know how to adjust that little ticker tape thing it is wrong.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

I am so depressed, crying everyday, wondering why I had this surgery if I am ot losing weight. I can eat as much volume as I did in the past and I never feel full. I am so frustrated I wanna eat cake! I had problems with the slimmies right after surgery but since I had my first fill I haven't had any problems at all. What is happening and why did I bother to have this surgery if it wasn't going to help. I have gained back 3 or 4 lbs since the fill. Help!!!
  5. I wish it was as easy to get rid of the calories in a sundae!! Donna
  6. My doctor had me on a low fat, sugar free /no sugar added diet that start 7 days prior to my surgery. This included yogart, milk, soups, jello, and puddings and I could have low fat crackers for the first 3 of those days, on day 4 no more crackers. Then the last day prior to surgery I had clear liquids only. Tea, Broth, Fruit Juice, Ices. , on this day I could have sugar to keep my energy up. The doctor stated the the reason for the fat free liquid diet was to shrink my liver. He explained that by shrinking the liver it made the surgery much easier to perform, he stated that they have to actually move your liver off your stomach to do the surgery and that the small it was the easier to move and that it was a very fragile organ so this really helped. I thought I would tell you what I did because there was a definite reason for it. Good Luck! Donna

Type 2 Diabetes: How Are You Doing?

I am so glad to find this thread and see how others are doing. I am only 1 week post op and off all my insulins already. I am just taking Actos once a day. Pre op I was on Lantus at bedtime 65 units, and took Apidra with each mean. (new insulin that is taken according to your consumption of carbs. Now I am eating practicly nothing, I am not hungry and have to remind myself to eat. I am wondering it others felt this way also the first couple of weeks after surgery?
