That is my next step, but I will give them or should I say him (Dr. Harry Cole) a few days. I am trying really hard not to act like a crazy person so we will see what happens by the end of the week. Trust me I want this very much and as soon as possible so I am not going to give up despite how frustrated I am right I was so up set my husband even called the office.

Girl I have been calling everyday I them a break last week but this I have called twice a day, faxed a letter to the doctor and mailed one also, but my hands are tied there is nothing I can do now but wait. I just pray he gets off his duff and gets the report done and the staff is no help at all they just keep saying the same thing "he has not given me an answer yet" . That is the last thing I am waiting on once that is done my paperwork can be sent to Dr. T's office and they can then forward it to Tricare. Does WDW luver mean you like Disney World?? I am a huge fan I am going for my 7th time this July if I can get my surgery done in time. Lol !!!

That sounds great you have everything all ready to go I however am still waiting on Dr. Harry Cole to send my psych eval report to Dr. T. I was told by the office he is very busy but I told them he was not too busy to collect 3 co-pays from. I am so frustrated right now it is driving me crazy. You will probably have yours done before me at this rate and it is making me have second thoughts about the procedure. Maybe it is a sign I shouldn't have it done. Oh okay that is a pretty good time frame. I hope I am able to get banded at the end of May if they can get my psych eval done in a timely manner. Thanks for the information. How much weight have you lost since being banded and do you have any tips or advice you can give me???

Erinshel, How long did it take you to get answer from Tricare? I am waiting on my psych eval to be sent to WLS and I am trying to be banded at the end of May.

Well hang in there and I will keep you posted on my progress which seems like it is going to go on forever. Just when I thought I saw light at the end of the tunnel now I feel like I am being pushed back further. I will try to keep the faith and know that if it is meant to be it will be.

How many more things do you have to get done before they can submit your paperwork to your insurance company?? I am still holding out hope that I can be done around May 21st.

No I did not have to do a supervised diet. But I had the same run around the list WLS gave me for the psychs so I found one through my insurance company and so I have had eveything done just waiting for the darn report so they submit my paperwork to Tricare. I am trying to have my surgery done during a certain time frame because I am out of school for only 2 months and want to be completely ready when classes re-start in August.

Yeah I know right that would not look good. I went to Dr. Harry Cole he was very nice and have to go first for the initial eval family history, medical history, etc. Then I had to go back for a 567 question test OMG I hate long tests like with the same question asked 3-4 different ways(head games). Then the last visit was to sit down and talk about the test and any areas of concern that showed up on the test and I passed now I am waiting on him to get the report together and sent to Dr. T's office and yes I did the computer test WLS too and that came out fine, it was not nearly as long. The questions on the big test were simple questions to determine if you anger issues, if you are a hyperchondriac, etc. just be honest the test can tell if you are trying to beat it.

Still waiting on the psych eval to be sent to Dr. T's office they told me it would be sent eary this week (Monday or Tuesday) now they are saying the end of the week (Thursday or Friday) !!!! It is going to make me nuts I work for a doctor and I know the games this could have been done so please pray that I can keep me patience and not end up in the psych hospital. LOL !!!

Hello all just wanted to update you all to let you know where I stand at this point. I am done with all my insurance requirements you know psych eval, physical, letters from PCP, and nutrition consult. The pysch report whould be sent early next week to Dr. T's office and hopefully by the end of next week the paper work will be sent to Tricare Prime and prayerfully I will hear something by the first week of May so keep your fingers crossed and by the summer I will be a bandster. I will keep you updated when I hear something else about my status.

No they will not give you a surgery date until your insurance approves the surgery because they have to have an authorization number before the hospital will let them post it. When I started I wanted the Gastric bypass then I weighed the pos and cons of the both procedures and decided on the Lap Band and then changed my mind again just to FINALLY decide on the Lap Band again and thats where I am.. I was looking for guidence from others and then decided to pray,pray and pray again and let the Lord guide my path. I met with Dr. T for a one on one appt and he agreed with my decision on the Lap Band based on the amount of weight I need to loose and some other factors. So my advice would be to do your reseach, visit different other sites like this one and most importantly pray if you are a believer because it help me relieve the doubt and indecision I was having. So I am just a step ahead of you in this process so I don't have any experience but if I can answer any questions for you I will and again good luck.

I have been to the seminar, had a one on one with the surgeon,nutrition consult, scheduled for psych eval on Thursday, and my PCM on the 14th of April. Then once all that is complete I can submit my paper work to Tricare and keep my fingers crossed. Congrats on taking the first step to healthier new life.

I had my one on one with Dr. T. yesterday and I also had my nutrition consult, so I have 2 more appts. to go so far. I have my pysch eval and my medical clearence with my PCM so if all goes well I can have my paper work submitted to Tricare before the end of April and prayerfully have my surgery done by May 21st. Keep my in your prayers that all goes smoothly. I am starting to cut back on my carbs, sweets, fried foods, etc. to prepare for my lifestyle change.

Thank you so much for all the information believe when I say you are truely a blessing from God. At first I felt like I was walking in the fog trying to get to a destination but now I feel like I can actually see where I am going. And soon I will be home just have to jump through a few hurddles first.

luvmy2dogs, Thanks so much for the encouraging words. Its sounds like even though you are having restriction issues you are doing a great job. What type of exercising are you doing and what is your diet like?? I am so excited. I was having some doubts did some prayer about it and since then I have been getting so much positive feed back from so many different places. I am meeting with Dr. T. on Monday for a one on one just so I can put myself at ease and get some answers to some questions that I have. As time gets closer and once I am banded I will surely like to keep you as a resource person if you don't and I gathering quite a suppport from right here on Lapbandtalk. What band did you get ?? Keep up the great work and I wish well and that should be easy since you are already on the right track.

Thank you so much since talking with you I have met 2 others who have been banded by Dr. T and it is by the grace of God because I prayed and asked for guidence. Thanks for the information and I will keep you in posted on my journey towards being banded.

Dr. Terracina did your surgery as well I am correct?? I have all my pre-op appts. set up so hopefully everything will go soomthly and Tricare will approve me in a timely manner.

I wanted to know how often did you have to follow up? How many fills did you get? Did you have any problems at all since you surgery? How much weight did you lose? I thought I had decided to get the lap band done. I went to the seminar, got my appointments for my PCM, Pscyh eval, and getting ready to get nutriention eval done as well. I have been talking to people but the only people I know are people who had the RNY done so all they can give me is their experience with the RNY so now I am undecided about which direction I should go. I know the Lap Band is less complication from a surgical stand point but I have been reading a lot about rebanding, slippages, and erosions. So I am even more confused than I was before I started doing my research. Can someone please give some insite on their experiences or on anyone that they know good or bad?? Thanks for all your help.

I went to seminar today and got the what to do next packet. I have to take the computer test and schedule my psyhc eval. I have to make another appt. with my PMC to get some labs and a few letters stating I am drug and alcohol free and able to go through the surgery without complications.

I just got my referral from tricare prime and I going to the information seminar on Wed. What else can I expect from this point on? I am in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Any information on Tricare approving the band??
