  1. Hello all... I was wondering if anyone has been treated with stress and anxiety while banded. I have had alot of this lately due to separating from my husband and moving out on my own and all the stresses of "starting over" and am seeing a therapist, I was also prescribed Zoloft. Taking the Zoloft has been completely AWFUL! When I take it I get the worst stomach pains I have ever had in my life, I feel like my stomach is on fire, its horrible. So my therapist suggested I post to see if anyone else is treated with stress and anxiety and what kind of medications work for you? If your more comfortable sending this in a pm I understand, but I would really appreciate any input anyone can offer. Ive been banded for over a year and have had WONDERFUL success with my weight loss, my Dr tells me I've lost 75% of my excess body weight, 105 lbs total... you would think with me getting my self back my ex would have appreciated it and he would want me...well he wanted every other woman besides me, but that's another story I suppose. Anyhow if anyone can offer me a bit of advice, thanks in advance!!
  2. Well finaly after 8 months I am in onederland!! Weight in today at 199! Woo Hoo!!!! I cannot even explain how excited I was!!! thats a total of 56 lbs- only 59 to go to my goal! Just wanted to share my joy and excitement with you all!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!!
  3. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if stress can cause your band to be tighter? I've had a stressful month and I feel like my band is super tight compared to how it was about a month ago- my last adjustment was Dec. 14 and it was a REALLY good one- great restriction! I went in for my Jan appt (Jan 21) and I had lost 13 lbs- dr was so impressed he moved me to 3 month appts. I eat very small portions and stay full. So now I'm just wondering if stress could be causing it to feel tighter? Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!
  4. Hello Everyone!! I just had my 3rd fill today- for a total of 4.5cc in a 10 cc band. I can feel some really good restriction! Im a little surprised though. My last fills I just felt a little restriction that subsided by the end of the day. But I had my appt at 9:30 this AM and I can still feel it really good. So good in fact that all I have had is about 1/2 cup of soup all day and I'm not hungry at all! Im super excited since my weight loss has been really slow. But I was just wondering if anyone else has felt like this- after a few days is it possible that this restriction will "go away?" I really hope not, I feel like this might just be "the one!" YAY I LOVE MY BAND!
  5. My surgery was on friday and I went back the following Thursday... I could have went back Monday but wanted to spend a little me time at home alone
  6. I had my surgery on 6/19 Friday and was discharged that evening... Saturday and Sunday I just kinda hung out around the house and rested...but I really didnt have much pain at all and I could have went back to work Monday. I have a very easy desk job, but Im going back Thursday which is the day my dr and I agreed on, Im still getting use to my liquid diet so Im ok with that. I also have a 3 year old and she doesnt understand the procedure I had done, but she does know that my tummy is sore and she has to be careful not to jump on me and she cant be rough. Good Luck, this website is amazing, any questions you have can definatly be answered here!

  8. Im 22 and was just banded yesterday, The surgery was a breeze, I havent had much pain at all, I was perscibed liquid percocet and it has handled the little bit of pain I have had. I chose the band b/c I am so young and I do plan on having more kids in the future, and liked the fact that I can have the fluid removed and have a normal pregnancy and then start over having my band refilled. The worst part is the waiting, I first saw the surgeon in Feb of this year and had to get in all required dr appts and then wait for insurance approval; but now that I look back on it, time really flew by! Good luck in whatever decision you make!
  9. Yep... I told the Dr that I was having a good bit of pain up by my boobs and my chest was hurting and he told me they had to restrict pretty hard to lift my liver b/c it was a little large, I had to do a low carb diet for 2 weeks to shrink my liver... and I do admit the last couple of days I didnt do so good... So I was expecting my liver wouldnt have shrunk to much. Did you have a hiatal hernia repaired or anything, Ive read that people who have those repaired have some chest pain... I do have a pretty high tolerance for pain and once I got to moving around and walking it helped ALOT! And stretching to, haha I would just stretch my arms above my head and for some reason that helped... hope it gets better for you!
  10. I was told that my chest hurt like that b/c my liver was a little large (I guess I didnt do so hot on my pre-op low carb diet) but the dr said they had to restict pretty hard to get my liver lifted...but the pain subsided this AM from that...only pain right now is where my port is. Before I was discharged they gave me a levonox shot (bloodthinner) just in case of any blood clots and when the RN took out my IV that little tiny hole was gushing blood... I was like OMG Im gonna bleed to death! But definatly find out about that; maybe you were moving to much and opened the wound...It never hurts to ask though! Hope you start feeling better!!
  11. I had my surgery w/Dr Bell yesterday and he was very good to me; everything went well and today I have very little pain and am feeling really good... I would definatley recommend Dr. Bell to anyone thinking of having surgery with him!
  12. I would like this information... you can email it to me at lnmlisa@yahoo.com if you dont mind, I would greatly appreciate knowing what others have planned...Im having a hard time trying to figure out what to eat (or I guess it would actually be drink) for Breakfast on a clear liquid diet:unsure:
  13. Well my surgery went well today too! Im glad to hear you made it out ok; but my experience wasnt like your at all. I have very little pain, not much gas pain at all, I just have to pee alot. But I was at the hospital form 10:30 till 8 this evening. I hope things get better for you and you start feeling better. Walking helped me alot; my husband got me up to walk around the hospital 3 laps every 30 min and I was feeling really good when I walked. Oh Congratulations on the start of a new and healthy life!!
  14. Congratulations!! Thats awesome that tricare approved you that fast... it took them a stinkin week to approve me and that was only after a few phone calls from the surgeons office and from me. I had my surgery today and I am glad to say I am doing great... pain is very minor and Im just really tired... Hope things go smoothly for you!
  15. Everything went well for me...Surgery was at 1:00 and I was discharged at 8:00 (eastern time) I havent had any bad pain or any neasua at all; I was given liquid percocet (sp?) and that is working for the little bit of pain I am having. I am really glad I made this choice. I hope everything went well for the others getting banded today! Congratulations!! WOO HOO
