    1 month after Surgery

I also am about a month out of surgery (6/24) and am totally in the same boat as you. I feel like i am eating to much, not nearly as much as i used to, but more than i probably should. I dont want to stretch my stomach or casue a slippage, i am constantly worried about this issue. But still can not win the battle over my portion control problems.
  4. I totally know exactly how your feeling!!! I was banded on 6/24/09 and feel hungry all the time. However, i am not eating anything becasue i am scared that i might get stuck or pb. I know these two things are inevitable and i have to branch out a little more, but i am sticking to crackers and cheese, or mashed potatoes and fish. I am craving variety and have not lost any more weight than the 17 pounds i have lost total (pre and post-op) i am however eating probably more than i should, but less than i ever ate before surgery. I just dont want to screw anything up with my band, but feel like i am going to die a slow and painful cracker death!!!! I would love someone to talk to about all of this- feel free to email me anytime; my email is sgwusf@aol.com.

    I'm Banded!

Yes, I felt sad. I am only 7 days post op, and for the first 4-5 days i cried everyday. It is becasue we have lost a best friend, food! Usually after we have done something important in our lives, food was there to comfort us and then reward us. This time food does not reward you for making a major life changing decision. I still feel sad, but these next two weeks will hopefully fly by, and then i can begin the game of what can or cant i eat.

    Day 1 of LOW CARB

    Have you already been banded?
  7. I am on day 6 of my pre-op protein diet. Days 1-4 were torture. My doctor said absolutley nothing besides protein shakes and a dinner of protein and green vegtables. I am suprised you all can have soup, carrots, etc. Is that really considered part of your protein diet?

First post, but not my last

I am getting banded on 6/24/09 also, and have finally had my first okay day doing the liquid diet until the surgery! I would love to remain in contact so that we can track eachothers success!!! No failures, this is finally are time to shine-
  9. yea it amazing I just want to eat anything and sometimes I am not even hungry.Yesterday was so bad I had to pick up a little boy from school and there was a doughnut truck in front of me for at least 7 min. of the 15 min. ride.

You are going to make it. It's going to get easier as the days go on. I am not sure if you are on clear liquids. If you are not put a half of banana, your protein mix and soy milk in a a blender with a few ice cubes just check the carbs on the milk most of them are 8-10 and some of about 7 grams of protein. I can't have the banana so I always put it the blender it's a lot more filling. we are going to make it....

    I think I can

OH MY GOSH!!! you took the words right out of my mouth- I am on day 4 and i have 10 more to go, it has been a real roller coaster. I never realized how much food rules my life, and I just want to get through these pre-op liquid days so that i dont regret my decision, but it is so difficult. I cant wait for my band (jun.24)-

    Pre-op part 2

I am on day 3 of my liquids diet-and i totally understand wanting to sleep so you dont think about food. Day 1 and 2 were far worse than today. I have 10 more days of this, so I hope i can stick it out- I just have to remind myself to think about the bigger picture!
  12. I am scheduled for my surgery on June 24th. I hope to make this my new normal. But Day 2 of the pre-op diet was harder for me than I thought. My doctor told me only 3 Protein shakes a day, plus a dinner with only a protein and green vegetables. So i have decided to have chicken ceaser salad, minus the cheese and the croutons (my favorite part of course!). I will probably be switching this up in the next ten days. What was the pre-op diet your dr. gave you. Looking froward to hearing from you, Stacy-
  13. Thank you so much for your comment. I have made it through day 2 of my liquid diet. It has been much than i thought- but i just need to get though this. I know it will all be worth it. I didnt realize how everything i do revolves around food, what im going to eat, where and when. So this has given my brain alot of free time, and im not quite used to it. I know there operating on my stomach, but it should come as a package deal, and include work on your brain too!!!

    Day 2 of liquid Diet

This liquid diet is much harder than I thought. I feel like I dont want to go anywhere or do anything, becasue I dont want to be reminded of all of the things I can't eat. Was the liquid diet this hard for everyone? I just keep reminding myself to remember the bigger picture.
